Actually, all rock music pretty much sucks when compared to true music.
Stuff like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven...

That's REAL music.

Do you know why people like to play rock music? because all it involves is power chord after power chord.

Just like rock band.

But to improve one self, one have to play either classical, metal, or neo-classical. Like those in GH3, and somewhat in GHWT.

People who stick to one style of music and proceed to bash all others infuriate me. I'm sure that you've made this list of "bad" songs based partially on your own tastes, partially on the fact that you've never heard some of them, and partially on the fact that they're not the same style of music you love or whatever.

I used to do the same thing when all I listened to was metal. Now, as much as I love metal, I can't see my life without having heard all the other music I listen to, from Brahms to Alicia Keys to The Who.

Calling these songs "pure shit" just goes to show how deeply rooted in your opinion you are, and how closed-minded that makes you.

Brushing off absolutely brilliant work on this list, including The Mars Volta, Wings, Stone Roses, and Filter is just sad.

Gaining an appreciation for music you wouldn't otherwise listen to will make your life better.

Waitwaitwaitwait.... Unless I'm overlooking it, is there no Aerosmith song?

They went through all the trouble of making them exclusive to GH to leave them out of GH:WT completely? I know they just did GH: Aerosmith, but that game left out quite a few of their better songs.

WTH? Why does it have 3 Tool Songs? Isn't one enough to make people realize they suck? 3 from Tool and only 1 from The Eagles, Billy Idol, Blink 182, Korn, Fleetwood Mac, and the others. There had better be loads of DLC coming! Best of all! Now i can proudly use my Korn Guitar Face Plate!

While RB2 may have a better set of songs I'd rather listen to in my car at least GH:WT knows that those aren't the best songs to play with other people. A good mix of more popular yet not"pop" songs. Probably better as a game set than RB2 but not better as just pure songs.

The band you like sucks, the band I like is much better. Ok now that that's out of the way, World Tour looks very very nice. My current game plan is to buy Rock Band 2 (Game Only) and buy the whole World Tour Kit. All songs, all fun, all the time.

Well...

I honestly like the RB2 setlist more. That being said, there are some great, great music on WT.

It may be a while before I pick up the core game, but I still think Rock Band has a better setlist and game all together.

But being second isn't always bad. I'm sure GH will be alright.

I haven't decided which I will get (Rock Band 2 or GH World Tour). I am leaning toward GH (the complete package) and then purchase Rock Band 2 disc only, preferably used but not likely.

This set list looks pretty awesome- if it were a concert. Don’t get me wrong, I am liking some of the names I have seen on that list (mainly the classic rock), however if there was one thing that Guitar Hero 3 taught me it was that don’t let the fact that there is good music make you think it will be a good game. Personally, I thought GH3 was a disappointment. Again, like I said, there was a lot of good music in it, but that doesn’t make it good Guitar Hero music. For example- I really like the song Slow Ride, but it is as boring as hell. Most of the songs in the games only had a lot of chord play and not enough lead guitar sounding riffs. Guitar Hero 2 was a good game because the songs had so many different riffs and rhythms. The songs were not just generic rock songs, they were entertaining to play- even the not so good songs. A lot of these songs look awesome on this set list, but ask your selves- will they be good songs to play? I am sure most of these will be good (especially the Hendrix and Dream Theater), and again, I think a lot of this stuff is excellent music.

Im so psyced buot GTWH its gonna be sweet. Im just so sad that theres not better metallica..... ya a there doing a metallica version but honestly... theres so many good ones, like fade to black master of puppets (it may be on here) ride the lightning turn the page soooooo many that are better then trapped under ice (but its still good). And once i saw tool vicarious..... i am so happy

I wanted to buy rockband, but found out TOOL was going to have 3 songs plus special visuals or stage stuff like on TOOL's videos, well, that was it for me. I'd buy the whole system for the three TOOL songs alone, period!

i think the setlist is decent, it is fairly typical, i hate all mainstream but i dont think you have to like the song in order to have fun playing it for ex. on RB2 i hate linkin park but the song one step closer is really fun to play, i just wish they got some real music like comeback kid, on broken wings, or maybe guns up!

Then again I have it for Nintendo Wii. I don't know if it's all the same or not.

When I saw the unconfirmed set list and the actual proper one, I was rather disappointed.
I got seriously hyped up when I saw Motley Crue were going to be on yet another version of Guitar Hero and now they're not, come on!

I didn't know if this game would have 311, but now that I know for sure. I'm gonna get it fo sho now!!! Been a 311 fan for over 13 years NOW!!! I was hoping for DOWN, but Beautiful Disaster I think is the best pick because of the Dual Guitar play. Both players get to shred now! No better than GHWT to because of the vocals! I challenge anyone to beat me on this SONG alone. YOU CANT!!!! Wish they still would have put DOWN though, because of S.A. I mean come on. This song only has Nicks vocals and 311 isn't just Nick! DAMN!!! They just said "Screw S.A. Martinez!" Well lets hope for a track pack.
