Joystiq Podcats 065 - DRM edition
Normally, we want you to share the J-Pod with everyone you care about, but not this week. This week, inspired by the Spore DRM, you'll be limited to putting the podcast onto two different devices for a total of listens not to exceed 10. Any more than that and the podcast will become sentient and kill you. Thanks to Michael Mayne of the JPAG for the totally wizard photochopping. (We're still in need of photochops by the way, so keep them coming on the JPAG!)

Jesus christ Chris, I can beat Fable 1 with every sidequest in 1 day and you take 3 WEEKS!
syrik zero @ Sep 12th 2008 8:52PM
But remember, he said he's either old or misses his chair too much to do his 50 hour non-stop marathons of gaming.
j.howlett @ Sep 12th 2008 8:53PM
my hand is raised
theturtle363 @ Sep 12th 2008 10:09PM
Hey Chris, I have exactly that same chair you're talking about. If I don't use one i can't play for more than 2 hours without having to lie down. The problem is that they're shit manufactured and the steel bars that do the ratcheting thing just crack or split or whatever and i cant literally just pull them out. They still make them and Target has them near the pillow or desk chair sections
Christopher Grant @ Sep 17th 2008 2:39PM
So you TOTALLY understand what I'm going through? How do people play for long periods of time without one? I just don't get it ...
Also, the reason Fable was taking me so long was a result of various environmental factors:
1) The chair situation, which has already been discussed
2) I put it down to play through Force Unleashed and Castle Crashers
3) I unfortunately keep myself very busy and most of the extra work time gets siphoned off from game time. Stupid work.
izzy @ Sep 12th 2008 11:35PM
Podcats?
j.howlett @ Sep 13th 2008 12:00AM
shhh . . . besides do you know how long it worked on broadway and the internet runs on feline images

I'm adding my experience of Photochopping the Joystiq Podcast's 65th Episode header image to my resumé.
Right now.
Good show, gentlemen. Make your time.

My brush with fame was taken from me. I am broken inside.
Donald @ Sep 13th 2008 11:24PM
Oh god, I work for a pharmaceutical website now and they sell two different models of laser comb (one's $400, the other $550).
And the sad thing is, that's not the craziest thing they sell - I'm not sure if that honor goes to "Anti Monkey Butt Powder" or "Chicken Poop" brand lip balm.
Will @ Sep 14th 2008 8:30AM
I appreciated this podcast more than usual as it made my grueling train ride much more bearable. I'm doing my best to spread the love of Joystiq to new international frontiers.
Jon @ Sep 15th 2008 5:11PM
Chris-
I have also been playing through Fable: TLC in anticipation of Fable II. I too struggled figuring out where to shine lantern. The "stable house" is at the entrance into the Grey House area. As you enter the Grey House area from Barrowfields it to the right.
Keep up the good work guys.
-Jon
Christopher Grant @ Sep 17th 2008 2:42PM
How was anyone supposed to figure that out? I finally found it totally by accident – looked into it and this whole sidequest was added onto Fable TLC to clean up what was apparently an even more undeveloped plot area in the original release.
But, yeah -- overall, Fable 1 was good. Had a lot of promise though, and the shortcomings make me strangely more excited for the future of the series (ie: Fable 2).
SweetDoom @ Sep 16th 2008 10:21PM
Am I the only one that plays the "air drums" when "Get Ready for Love" starts?
Jarret @ Sep 18th 2008 9:52PM
I sing and dance, and not what I got Nick Cave's Lyre/Blues on half I can listen to the whole song.
Jarret @ Sep 18th 2008 9:52PM
now!
Argh.

Hey Mr McElroy,
I started up a new game of spore and randomly I had the exact same experience. My carnivore walked onto land for the first time and there was a dead Grimace by my nest that I had to eat.

At this point, the only reason I'm leaving a comment is so that I might have even the smallest chance at a Bw/F. But I'm not asking for it. Definitely not asking for it.
Brian @ Sep 19th 2008 12:02AM
Chris & the boyz (Ubistyle), check out this chair or chairs for gaming. I have been using the Taurus chair for almost 7 years now and it's been saving my old ass from your typical long gaming session aches and pains. It does not have speakers built in or vibrate for your pleasure but it is comfortable as hell. It pretty much supports your back like a sweet chair should.
