Mega Man 9 out in Japan Sept. 24
Capcom has announced that the Blue Bomber will return in Japan for Mega Man 9 on September 24. Wii Fanboy has noted the irony in the traditional game's nontraditional Wednesday release -- typically, Japanese WiiWare games come out on Tuesdays.
Now, we patiently await the official announcement of Mega Man 9's alleged September release date in North America and its possible release in Europe this year.

I wonder if its timed exclusive for WiiWare? I really haven't heard much about the other versions, aside from an achievements list

I guess next week they will release Mega Man 2 in the VC. They said that it will be available before Mega Man 9.

i predict that mega man 9 releases on sept 22nd here in the usa,if its releasing sept 24th over in japan or maybe the week after

The same GoNintendo rumor posits that the MM9 release in America will be delayed for some mondo VC release
But the raving hordes of people who have long awaited EarthBound should take it with a grain of salt.

Nostalgia is a terrible thing.

Who cares about japan when do we get it? >:|

I'm not big on nostalgia as much as i used to be, but i still enjoy old games that are fun, such as super mario world or street fighter 2, games that are easy to jump into. As far as MM9 goes, it's interesting that they went back to the days of the NES, but i think it would've been better if they at least went with a 16-bit era game instead. 8-bit games don't hold up as well as the 16-bit ones do, since a lot of 2D games came to a halt when the 32-bit era came along.
It'll be interesting to see how well it does.

The irony? Don't you mean it's appropriate?

I'm assuming this will be the last release of the month, if it does come out in September. I do believe Potpurri or whatever comes out next week, and HOPEFULLY the week after the next episode of Strong Bad comes out.
If there isn't a new Strong Bad episode and Megaman 9 this month, like there is supposed to be, I shall cry.
Fernando Rocker @ Sep 12th 2008 3:52PM
Strong Bad Episode 2 is confirmed for next Monday.
