Firstly, it sucks that it's GH3 and not RB.

Secondly, what I've heard on XM of the new album hasn't impressed me all that much.

all the hype with this record and personally i think its kinda boring . at least other people will enjoy it i guess .

the album is better than the stuff they made in the last 10 years... but that isn't saying much.

GH 3 sucks. Why even bother?

I listened to the album with very low expectations and was surprised. I rather enjoy it. Definately better then anything they've done since the Black album.

Anyone preorder the album to get the download codes? The whole offer with Best Buy is worded pretty skeptical. You get a card telling you how to get the tracks on GHIII. Do you actually get a redemption code or is it just a card saying you can spend 1440 MS points to get the tracks on XBL?

$9.99 for the actual CD and GH tracks when you preorder or $18 (1440 MS points) to download the GH tracks from Live. Considering Metallica's past. It doesn't make sense.

Oh come on. The only people who are GH obsessed nowadays are 12 year olds. And I'm not exaggerating - go the GH official forums and take a peek.

Seriously, I see kids all of the time try to defend GH by saying Rock Band is too easy, and they just suck at Guitar Hero. I can safely say I'm good at Guitar Hero and also good at Rock Band.

To most, there's no reason why Guitar Hero is better than Rock Band. At least that's how it seems to me =/

And easly the most simple mucis game out there just a tad harder than umjammer lammy.

You say you are good? Give me yor gamertag and we will play proface off on through the fire and flames and I'll tell you if you deserve to make such a statement. As far as RB goes, a mentally challenged chimpanzee could complete it's songs on the expert level.

There isn't even a comparrasion. One is for the hardcore gamer and the other is for the casual gamer.
I plow through GH3 almost effortlessly on the expert level people that can't play rockband nuff said.

I'm a guitarist, and I find Guitar Hero to be exhilarating. I gave Rock Band a try but wasn't impressed with the guitar track; just not challenging enough.

The guitar hero tracks are only free in the $39.99 exclusive best buy edition of the album, which equals a major rip off.

The Best Buy website still doesn't say which version you need to buy to get this offer. I know quite a few people who will be returning their preorders. This album has been "out" for over a week now.

One good thing about this DLC is that it's forward compatible with GH: World Tour.

Great Album, IMO. Much better than St. Anger. It's a great deal as well, it's priced about the same as the Rock Band albums, plus you can use it for World Tour and every song is 6+ minutes.. so much music for your money.

Update - I ordered the $10 version, because both the X3F post AND thee Best Buy ad led me (and likely others) to believe that it didn't matter which version you ordered. CD showed up, no DLC card. I called Best Buy, and they basically told me I was an idiot for realizing you had to buy the $30 special edition for the DLC. Well, the ad doesn't say it, so you have to be a bestbuy employee to know this. Either way, I am stuck with a CD that will likely stink, but at least I WOULD have had DLC to go with it. I hate best buy again.

Look people the Album is good, the songs are fun to play and you will be able to use them on guitar hero world tour. if you dont like it dont buy it and stop bitching.

this albums actually good!!

SO worth the money

and stop fussing that it's not on rock band.
rock band doesn't deserve it.
