Rumor: Team ICO reveals The Queen, all bow down
The third project from the "Olympic Team" behind both Shadow of the Colossus and Ico looks like it might make its long anticipated reveal next month at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show. What appears to be a newly launched TGS teaser website calls the game ICO 3 The Queen, adding that Japanese PS3 owners will be able to yank the title off store shelves on October 9, 2009.
Given the name, as well as the site's reuse of the original game's logo, it remains unclear if the title will be any sort of direct follow up to the original Ico or another stand alone project, but whatever the case we cannot wait to find out more once TGS gets underway.
Note: As some have pointed out, the site's validity is suspect, meaning we now wait until next month's TGS to see if in fact the next game from Team ICO will make an appearance or simply break our hearts.

I'm not trying to be a douchebag by correcting you, but The phrase is "all for naught".
I post this as a public service announcement.

PS3? God damn it.
SoulBlade @ Sep 13th 2008 11:06PM
Why wouldn't they go for Sony? I don't quite understand the surprise.
Z3R0 @ Sep 13th 2008 11:45PM
Team ICO is a 1st party studio under Sony, so they only develop for Playstation.

What an incredibly cryptic statement. For clarity, in the thread that same person goes on to say the game doesn't exist. He made it for some contest or something.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK YYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
And I haven't even played Ico, nor have I played SotC for more than 15 minutes.
Crazy awesome that they've announced the release date more than a year earlier, too.

lol nice save josh. i'm just as excited though... this may help ps3fanboys recover from losing ff13 exclusivity. The gaping wound on my back hasn't healed yet.

Declaring an exact date so early should've made it seem suspect anyway
Though I would still look to TGS for information, certainly.

*Waits till TGS*
I just know that whatever Ico has to reveal, it will be good, they are just one of the few developers I put full trust in, don't let me down team Ico :)
StingerVI @ Sep 13th 2008 10:40PM
Amazing internet forums exploded so quickly just now. Imagine if they REALLY show at TGS. The world will end.
This is one exclusive 360 WILL NEVER get ahaha
Arnon @ Sep 14th 2008 12:02AM
Who cares.. it's a video game.. what does it matter what console it's on? >_>
StingerVI @ Sep 14th 2008 1:08AM
You gotta excuse me. Caught up in the moment and 20mins of PS3 fanboys marking out.
Also left System Wars at Gamespot and they think it'll come to 360 because Team Ico wants money.
scooterbaga @ Sep 14th 2008 6:03AM
I would imagine it matters to the people who don't own said console. ...Those are a might expensive these days.
Mike Piontek @ Sep 13th 2008 10:44PM
Come on guys, edit the title better and stop getting people's hopes up. It's not a rumor when they guy that made the thing says it's not even real.
Samuel Axon @ Sep 13th 2008 10:46PM
OMG OMG Team Ico OMG OMG *hyperventilate*
Ranus Studios @ Sep 13th 2008 10:49PM
Just because it isn't real doesn't mean I wouldn't gladly wait the year or more to make it mine.
Alex @ Sep 13th 2008 11:01PM
could somebody clarify something for me?
there was Ico... then Shadow of the Colossus...
and if this teaser were legit... Ico 3?
so shadow of the colossus was technically Ico 2?
what?
ComradeTrotskii @ Sep 13th 2008 11:32PM
That's about the score. The games creator stated that they are set in the same world and there is a visual clue in characters present in the games. SotC is a prequel to Ico.
Note: Minor spoilers

VeganTnT @ Sep 14th 2008 12:06AM
The games will most likely be
Shadow of the Colossus - showing how the wanderer was reborn with horns
The Queen - Showing how she rose to power, became evil and wanted horned children sacrificed at her castle
Then
Ico
of course I don't ever them officially saying they were tied together just hinting at it so it might be another stand alone game that just adds to the mythos surrounding all the games
mezzanine @ Sep 14th 2008 1:38AM
It probably just means Team Ico's 3rd project, like how Resistance was called I-8 for Insomniac project 8 when it was first announced.
raylinth @ Sep 13th 2008 11:07PM

Superstar90 @ Sep 13th 2008 11:46PM
well, even if it was fake it was an amazing awesome fake, that probably would get high ratings and become a ps3 must own...
sigh :(
nickux @ Sep 14th 2008 12:27AM
i hope and pray this is real. I have been waiting for Team ICO's next game and can't wait much longer. If it turns out to be sometime during the holiday of 2009, then that helps. I can wait until then. I just need some reassurance and at least a vague time-frame to set my heart to.
Frostfell @ Sep 14th 2008 12:36AM
I definitely don't understand why this team has been so hyped, I thought their freshman and sophomore attempts were mediocre.
StingerVI @ Sep 14th 2008 1:11AM
Thats just your thought and opinion. Team Ico games are liked by roughly 75% of PS2 owners. A follow up from such great developers will naturally cause a hype storm.
aj @ Sep 14th 2008 1:52AM
I thought ICO was great, but Shadow of the Collossus was only good for the first ten minutes or so. It was beautiful, but I like having a game actually involve more than wandering around the countryside endlessly. A for effort, sure, but still boring and nothing more than a nice virtual postcard.
I'm still excited about Ico 3 or whatever it will be. Though I have no plans to buy a PS3, I may one day!
RobLink (Alex Kidd incarnate) @ Sep 14th 2008 3:12AM
'75% of PS2 owners'?
So the previous games must've sold about 90 million copies between them, right?
Yourself @ Sep 14th 2008 3:41AM
This post made me get out SotC tonight and give it another try, but I just can't help throwing my controller down in frustration every time I play the game.
Why do I have to hold a button to make my horse go, or to hang on a ledge? Why are directions sometimes related to the character and sometimes to the camera?
Why are my only choices of camera angle: 1.) see the Colossus but can't see the character or 2.) see the ground in front of the character but can't see what the Colossus is doing?
On top of that, though I admit to having only played 5 Colossi, they have all quite quickly boiled down to a simple process: climb up a really obvious path to a weak spot, then hold R1 while pressing square repeatedly until the boss is dead.
It just feels like a game that really needed play-testing and never got it.
Sorry for the tedious and relatively off-topic rant, but for whatever reason, that game really grates on me.
j.howlett @ Sep 14th 2008 7:16AM
@yourself: you have to hold a button to make your horse go in other games or motorcycle or car. the grip button and meter are part of the rules and play mechanic, it's part of the puzzle. if you make it to the bull or lion witch ever is first your in for a challenge.
StingerVI @ Sep 14th 2008 7:58AM
Roblink
No because Ico was under rated
And at the time of SotC the 360 was still new and popular.
Games don't have to sell to be well known and acknowledged by the gaming community. Ico and SoTc are fine examples of this.
duckhunt9 @ Sep 14th 2008 12:38AM
Sorry to say, but this has been verified as a fake.
junkr @ Sep 14th 2008 6:39PM
Fake, LOL. Good thing they didn't post 'impressions' on the game they never played like they usually do. No wonder AOL don't pay you guys anymore.

Its an FPS.
