You know the funny thing? The dishwasher thing actually works.

Well, assuming your keyboard is a plain, wired keyboard. ;)

No kidding. This is actually true few months ago I tried this and it actually works.

Just don't put there a Wireless Keyboard and you should be fine.

Evidently this process will actually work with the white Apple keyboards.

Works with any keyboard that won't fall apart. As long as you don't plug it in until completely dry you're totally safe. If it falls apart due to the high pressure spray and heat then well, stop buying crappy keyboards.

Also works with motherboards or any other piece of circuitry with no hidden spaces, rustable metals, or moving parts. (motherboards are coated to prevent oxidation at the factory)

I think a drying time of 1-2 days is a requirement, though.

Of course, if a keyboard is really good enough to be cleaned, it's good enough to have the key caps popped off and be cleaned properly.

Sorry, but it is actually true. You can put keyboards in the dishwasher. If you want to be safe, leave it to dry overnight.

Some "sticky" things just don't wash off folks.

Namely spilled cola. You people are sick.

Good luck cleaning it out from the inner workings of the keyboard once it's dripped down.

Coke is much worse though. I've had Coke ruin keyboards, playstation 2's, laptops, etc. You'd think I'd stop drinking coke near my electronics but...well..you'd be wrong.

Some one's going to have to explain Robot Martini this week for me. I don't see why it is funny or how it is at all relevant to video games.

Dan is making fun of a few things this week... that it could be silly to treat game reviews like a "High Art ", that games that treat themselves like high art are also silly (even snobby), and a few specifics about Okami itself. (that the "second sip" you take of it is staler than the first)

I like it, but I had to vote for the silly Bees comic this week. (Sorry Dan!)

Meh, none really struck a chord with me. I'm tired and annoyed with all the anti-Spore news this week, thought the Hannibal comic was cheap, so I voted for "Digital Unrest," though I think PA was actually the funniest this week. Just don't think the PA guys need any more hype.

I thought the lock should have had "Wife" written on their as well; at least for me, personally, she's usually very understanding, until Tuesday she came home and saw the RB setup sitting in the living room. Her eyes needed a bra.

Not just keyboards, works with PCBs too.

Make sure there are no batteries or undischarged capacitors and give it a whirl. Make sure the thing's dry, and preferably don't use the heat dry setting or soap (leaves residue).

Works wonders on certain non-working Neo Geo arcade carts, and presumably would work on old NES games as well (though I presume they don't get quite so nasty as Neo Geo carts that have been through the arcade wringer and then stored in a warehouse in Hong Kong for years).

Penny Arcade for being genuinely funny, and is it just me or did that digital unrest comic seem REALLY familiar? I could've sworn I have seen that comic before? hmmm.

@ Obie

I was thinking it looked extremely familiar until I scrolled down and the guy had linked to an older comic on the same site.

I knew I had seen something almost identical before.

I remember seeing that keyboard in the dishwasher thing in some video many years ago.

Also, wouldn't any electronic device work after being put in water, but you have to let it completely dry?

Don't get me wrong; I loved Okami. It doesn't have any replay value, and I wasn't wild about the potty humor, but overall it's a beautiful game and I recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Okami's art style is great I guess and the brush technique was certainly innovative too. It just holds the players hand way too much.

Specifically, knowing exactly what the game wants me to do, but not being able to do it till i've gone somewhere or talked to every villager twice or any other arbitrary thing the game requires me to do before telling me exactly what I already knew...
