Deadspace is one of your most anticipated titles of the year next month? I figured LBP, SOCOM Confrontation, Motorstorm Pacific Rift and hel, now Eternal Sonata might place above Dead Space.

Oh, and that $20 title Wipeout HD. Drooling over that one even with the mess ups to Zone mode.

At first I wondered what this sites acute affinity towards Dead Space was. I even criticized them for it. Now Dead Space is a must buy for me. Just read all the incredible previews the game is getting. PS3 Fanboy was right on predicting this will be a great game!

They only said that because:

"Dead Space starts the holiday season off on October 14th and after that it's a terrifyingly expensive avalanche of titles until years end."

Ie it's the first one, and most relevant from a weekly update point of view. They didn't "place it above" LBP or R2.

For the record, I am more highly anticipating Dead Space than Resistance 2. LBP is, obviously, in a league of its own.

I read the story of "The force unleashed" and I sorta hate the fact that it's canon, so its mere existence pisses me off so I probably wont buy it.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed doesn't really float my boat i would have considered it if it had trophies but since it was a flat out NO .. yea no thanks i got no interested in your title now at all, and yes Epic Avalanche of titles coming this year, Saints Row 2, LBP, Resistance 2, BioShock, Eternal Sonata, Motorstorm: PR, Socom Online. it's gonna be a wild year for PS3 ... and i'm sure their will be one or 2 more i'm forgeting that's exclusive or non exclusive that's gonna Rock as well.

What the hell difference do trophies make to the enjoyment of a game?

If you only play for trophies, you're doing it wrong. People played and enjoyed games long before achievements and trophies came along. A lot of time, we didn't even keep score.

`Sad that people will actually refuse to play a game because they can't show off to others that they "beat" it.

yeah trophies mean nothing. I liked PSN better before them because all the 360 fanboys would buy games just for useless points. any ways the force unleashed is beast, well the demo is at least

Zero and Nilla, you just proved WHY the trophy system is great for devs. They get people to BUY THEIR GAME! Most production companies (*cough* EA *cough*) could care less about the quality of a game as long as it moves copies. If trophies move a crap game, then trophies it is!

am i the only one that felt the demo was not that good?
i fear this game will be like mercs 2 a big let down
from the demo it dose not even look as good as DMC4 the story doomed to have a bad ending

i will rent dont think its a buy

I agree with you.
At this point: if a developer puts achievement in the 360 version why should we ps3 owner get the short end of the stick since the technology is there. Plus the demo didn't strike me as a must have like bioshit...excuse me bioshock so why should I pay for a inferior version of a repetitive game?

But Eternal Sonata is a must have for a rpg fan (on ps3) with or without trophies.

Don't blame the publishers, blame Sony. They themselves said trophies aren't required and its completely up to the dev's vs MS requiring ALL games to have achievements.

Sadly Rock Band 2 comes out in October for PS3. Still can't wait for that game though, its going to be very fun. Hell, I still play healthy doses of the first one up to this day. LBP, Rock Band 2, Dead Space, Motorstorm 2, Fallout 3....man October is definitely the killer month for gaming this year.

hahaha...yeah, very painful. Though I guess I can stagger some of the ones I don't really want on first day and get those later. That's always so hard to resist though.

Going into holiday the only must buy for me so far is LBP. I bought the original Motorstorm day one but I've never been excited to buy a sequal of a game, especially a racing game. Same thing goes for R2.

For Comment #13 ZeroCorpse

i am a star wars fan but what i heard of the game it sounded interesting then when i watched the game for previews .. their was something about it that turned me off for some reason .. now i say i would only get the game if it had trophy's cause i wouldn't mind playing a star wars type game that has trophies enabled hence they said no trophies .. then i was not interested.

now i figure you were saying this cause no one else on the comments said anything about trophies till it hit me then you made a comment. well i'l tell you why Trophy's is sorta big deal for me .. cause if their is a game to come out that i want .. say for instance... Bioshock now if that didn't have trophies i would still buy it cause it's a great game but having trophies is a plus for me cause then i can spend more time playing it and trying to unlock trophy's to kill time and it can be fun. this is why i like trophy's

Ill be getting Pure, defintely one of my favorite demos. I might buy a Dual Shock 3 just for it :(. But anyway.

The Force Unleashed, I hope my roommate nabs it, I enjoyed the demo but I was so clunky with the controls that I couldnt enjoy it really.

Well I'm about to play star wars on my psp in a few seconds. Got copy of it last night. The reviews haven't been the greatest which is normal for a star wars game i guess. I've never been blown away with any of them.

Wow I thought i was the only one into Pure It's not my type of genre but it's definitely one of my favorite demos. If the demo wasn't available prior to the release i wouldn't haven't even lookd at it.
Now it's a definite MUST BUY
