A gamer's game, so to speak. The series that helped define the modern action genre. A pioneer in cinematic presentation to progress a story. And let us not forget the astoundingly relevant poignancy which haunts the consciousness of all: ninjas are totally sweet. The challenge is exceptional, yet rarely frustrating (save for those stupid hawks). Some could consider defeating a Ninja Gaiden title to be a badge of honor. Indeed, I didn't earn my badge for II until a year ago.
The 2004 remake of Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox was an excellent title. It retained the hallmarks of the original, but beefed up the graphics and presentation to the highest possible quality. Since the main component of the series has moved to higher-definition pastures, now would be the perfect time (especially considering financial issues) for Tecmo to give us a new-old Ninja Gaiden.
