We knew SCi Entertainment, parent company of Eidos, had financial issues, but we didn't realize those "issues" totaled a $177 million loss for the company in its fiscal year, ending June 30. The company has been in the midst of a major restructuring ever since it received a bailout investment of $107 million from Warner Bros earlier this year. The company also announced it plans to change its name to Eidos PLC.
The company states it will focus on higher quality games by giving more attention to key franchises: Hitman; Deus Ex; Championship Manager (?); and Lady Croft's series. Tomb Raider: Underworld will release this November, with Deus Ex 3 rumored to be fully unveiled soon.

They need to make Carmageddon 4. If that isn't a 200 million dollar title then I don't know what is.

Championship Manager is an excellent soccer management game. Think NFL head coach, but for soccer, and not shit.

Bring me a new Legacy of Kain, and I'll turn your company around. Ok, so maybe I won't turn your company around, but I will buy a new Legacy of Kain game.

I don't think there's really much you could add to Legacy of Kain without making it shit.

I'd kill to see LOK1 remade in a true action adventure RPG setup and then they can start redoing all the games with a deep action/adventure/RPG setup... even the alternative history one in Blood omen 2 :X
Rather not have a game like LOK:D is was ok...but the series is is more adventure than hack and slash...

well considering these are probably public companies, the owners and managers make a lot of money no matter what happens. thats what sucks. they dont necessarily care about good games, they dont have to.
stuff like this wont teach them to make better games, and not release bad titles.
THQ had a bad year last year and released a lot of bad games..
i just dont know if the owners of those companies care enough to make good games anymore, or just how many zeros come with their pay.

How much of that was lost goodwill from them (allegedly) getting Jeff G. fired from Gamespot?

Oh boy if you though DX3 was going to suck now it can only suck more!
Unless of coarse they manage to make it epic and then go out of business!

And where the hell is the next Hitman game? Eidos had it listed in their last financial year report for a September release this year, is that one of the titles that has been axed?
I hope not, knocking people out and stealing their clothes doesn't work in real life when your 195cm tall. I need the virtual experience. They better expand on the ability to go on a gun crazy rampage dressed as Santa as you could in Hitman Blood Money. Mayhaps an Easter Bunny shooting spree?

They're going to be just fine now that they've started the Age of Conan money train. It's probably a good time to start looking at buying some of their stock.
