This is it! It's happening, just as the ancients had foretold. Blizzard has officially revealed the release date for its latest get-rich-quick scheme. Wrath of the Lich King – the second expansion to the sorta-popular World of Warcraft – will cast an icy blue glow over retail shelves everywhere on November 13th for the doesn't-include-your-subscription asking price of $39.99.
That means you have exactly two weeks before Thanksgiving to storm the shores of Northrend with your fancy new Death Knight, mess up some undead frost wyrm dragons, earn as many Achievements as possible, and put Arthas on ice for good. In the meantime, if you're curious what any of that means, crawl through Massively's "What's new in Wrath of the Lich King" primer, embedded below.

Any news about a special edition. After gamestop ripped me and thousands others off with our WAR CE edition, I'll be buying from Amazon.com

With AoC - the guy at the store said they didn't get the headstart codes. A friend the same day got his - said he had to pester them. I drove back there and asked the same guy for my codes and he reluctantly gave them to me. (this is after finding out from the conan site gamestop should have your codes)
With WAR - they screwed tons of us over. There are two editions of the game, standard and collectors. Each had headstart codes - one for 2 days (SE) one for 4 days (CE) before launch. Gamestop gave most people the SE edition codes; including CE customers. There is nothing on the box identifying it as SE. Some SE customers (and friends of Gamestop employees) got CE codes... they magically appeared on ebay (listed under Gamestop CE codes) for upwards of $300.
Additionally, developers and producers hate Gamestop. It is a pawnshop, selling used games on a huge scale and the developers don't see a cent on it. Sure, you'll laugh that EA makes enough money... but remember Irrational (used to be independent till 2k ate them - they made a lil game called Bioshock). Buy that copy used and they don't see a penny. No money = no return on investment = have to be sucked into a corporation who controls what they do based on what sells = no originality, Bioshock 12: the Dead Seahorse.
Mark Rein Hagen of Epic Games was very vocal about his hate of Gamestop.

Wrath of the Lich King, sounds like an amazing game. I have heard of the game World of Warcraft. Are these games related? I know that World of Warcraft is a multiplayer game, is this a multiplayer game, too? I am sure on November 13, there will be many people waiting to buy this game. It will probably be challenging; however, I would love to try this game. The subscription asking price is $39.99 which seems reasonable. The objectives of this game sound a little hard, but I am sure many people can handle this game. I am guessing it said you have two weeks, because it is two weeks before Thanksgiving. Of course, the new game probably wants you to finish the last game before attempting the new one. Wrath of the Lich King sounds like it will not be a disappointment. It is probably sure to bring tough challenges and excitement throughout the whole game. Can’t wait till November 13th!
