I call BULLSH*T on this one. Peter Molyneux is not one to miss an opportunity to brag about an 'innovation'. If this had been planned, he would have hinted about a 'few surprises' within the pub game when the pub game was first announced. Why? Because he knows it would have sold more game and created more press then the pub game itself.
Then when the glitch was discovered he would have come out with a comment like "The world of Fable 2 is a world full of moral choices, so use the pub game at your own peril", and not have simply said they were working on a patch.

I guess I'll only be linking my evil player to my cheating one. I have a 2nd gambler (over $80,000) that's "cheater free" that I'll link to my good character when I play the game a 2nd time.

I bet the game will give the money to you, but then have some guy come and steal it from you as punishment. Doesn't matter, I wanted to play the game the normal way so I never got the pub games.

Well I thought of a good plan, from what I've read in the article "3
hours with Fable 2" childhood dosent take that long, so if the
punishment is something I really dont like I will play the game
through childhood till I grow up, get my money, and give it to a
friend to hold, then replay the game though childhood without linking
to my gambler.

You know what? PM is just trying to save his ass. I have much anticipation for Fable II, but know this.. PM is lying to save his ass because what's REALLY happening is it is patched, which if it was intended it wouldn't have been patched.. So they are adding this because it WASN'T intended.

I think this is great. I cheated and gained about 2 million. I was planning on having a good character with no money. And a evil character that was rich as hell. This makes him look even more evil.

Molyneux was grinning in his helicopter headphones and saying "JUST AS PLANNED" all along...

"I'm not particularly upset by it, I mean, it's a shame that the exploit was in there... it was such an easy exploit. There is a lot to spend this gold on. A hell of a lot to spend this gold on. You know, I think the value of all the unique items in the world is over twenty million in Fable. And I am pretty sure, although I'm not absolutely sure, that importing such a vast amount into the Fable world affects your character. I'm not sure, that may have been thrown in at the end, but we were thinking about having a 'you obviously cheated' mechanic.

Your teeth go brown or something?
Your teeth go black, yeah! So every time you smile people run away! But you're a millionaire! [laughs]"

Can they track it even after deleting the game and game saves?

It'd be cool if they punished you by how much money you're trying to import. Obviously someone trying to bring in a couple million gold would have cheated (or been really lucky) so their punishment would be harsher then someone who only brings in a couple thousand. I plan on intentionally losing a couple thousand before the game comes out... I used the exploit to make money to LOSE on the other games. I lost thousands trying to unlock the other Spinnerbox games. :( I'm only at 50k, which is too excessive in my mind. I'm weird. I cheat to lose. :D

Regardless, I'm sure within hours of the game coming out people will know and report what happened to them if they cheated... and I'm going to make my boyfriend import his character first. He's cheating his way to millions, hehe.

This is a brilliant idea...kudos to Lionhead for coming up with it! The game wasn't really one I'd planned to buy, but I might just have to check it out if they're that crafty...

I reckon this is fake. I mean when I played this it had an update and the cheat no longer worked?! So why would they fix it? Cos they dont want people to know it had problems, Peter is saying this just to cover fable up and make it not look bad that they can miss something stupid. But I bet they will do something in Fable 2 now, dammit lol. But why would they fix it? Wouldnt they carry it on so cheaters can be still known now?

Yeah, it would have been cool to include this feat.

Thats if the pub games were free and not 800 ms points.
Why the f*** would I waste my money on this pointless game of luck for anything but making money? I thought the glitch was intentional so people could actually make use of this game.
Now all that time I spent 'cheating' will probably turn me evil straight away or something lame like that... oh well.

You know, I honestly didn't think that there would be any ramifications to cheating...although I know that that is no excuse. I've always played my characters on the good side. I just thought that it was a glitch... The house ALWAYS wins anyway so I don't think that there should be any punishment.

I think the way they find you out is by a code that they had put in the pub games that matches with a fable 2 game code that will catch you.

i think that they are taking this way to far we paid for it we should be able to keep the gold anyway we got it i dont care what they make us do as long as they dont make us evil because i wasnt ganna be evil i just wanted the extra cash so it would be easier to progress but if they want to be huge duche bags about let them ass long as they dont screw us over they should allow us to choose what our punishment is
