Bitter Jets fan? Where? It couldn't possibly be me. I'm a Bucs fan, and I'm hardly bitter because there would be no point. It would be like being a bitter Cardinals or Lions fan, except that the Bucs have actually been to and won a Super Bowl game.

Ive used this cheat but to a certain degree, 25,000. Do you think I will be penelized as much as someone who used it to get literally like 7 million? Will they even be able to tell if I cheated with such a low amount of gold?

Bullshit. Way to punish customers for your glitch. I think the appropriate thing to do would be to patch the game, apologize to the nuns who didn't take advantage of their error, and cap the gold you can transfer out of Pub Games. Although, being lazy and lying about it works, too.

Whether or not they knew about it ahead of time, it's still pretty clever. If it was an accident, it's not so much 'punishing customers for their glitch' as it is punishing cheaters for taking advantage of a glitch.

It's just not a good PR move in this case. There's still a month to go before the game launches and the fact that they're spinning this to be the customers' problem instead of their problem just doesn't sit right. Is this the customer service and support we should expect from Fable II, as well? They need to think about who's playing Pub Games: preorder customers. People who, if pissed off enough, can still cancel that order.

Actually, it's great PR.

Besides, it only occurs if you try to use the tainted character with the game. You can start from scratch, you know, or play legit with another character in Pub Games.

Most of the comments seem to be positive regarding this, so I fail to see how this is such a poor pr move.

How is this great PR? Look through the comments here. Even people who didn't use the cheat know someone who did, and half the people are calling BS. This is not going out to the greater masses, who will herald Lionhead as great beacons of light in a corrupt, LB-mashing cheaters' doomworld. The only people who will know about this are people who already preordered the game. There is no way to GAIN sales based on this, there is only the potential to lose sales, so how is this great PR?

Calm down. I seriously doubt they'll be "punishing" anyone. More likely you'll start the game slanted toward the evil side, which is entirely appropriate. Or there'll be some other goofy consequence, like a special "cheater" item, or some funny reactions from characters in the game.

Agree with Jonah Falcon here...this pretty much deepens the immersion factor for players who are serious about their Fable fix...I never played too much of the original, but I'm psyched about this one.

Isn't the glitch/exploit only for one of the three game types? If it was deliberate, where's the cheat for Spinnerbox? I hate slots.

Maybe inflation will be your penalty. Start out with an amount of gold above "x" and all prices will be indexed around how much you abused it

So buying basic items will be much more expensive, or so.

I decided not to use the glitch...i am thinking lionhead studios knows about the glitch and those who do it will have bad karma in the game (parents could abuse you as a child, a bully will start bugging you, or the patron you are using in the pub games will give you a hard time giving you your gold).

Just play without the glitch. You will still earn alot of cash. Use the regular games to gain stars and concept art, then use the tournaments for gold and items.

Fable 2 FTW...i just hope the big environments don't look blurry and faded like GTA 4.

It's a gameplay mechanic in GUN, not an exploit. (rolling eyes)

Great, now I get to run around mindlessly killing boars for 10 hours because I "cheated" at what is essentially a single player game (or at the very least a non-competative multiplayer game)!

How about those that just did the "exploit" a couple times. I always played the game conservatively with max bid and tended to exit at 16 or higher and a couple times when I started the game I forgot to increase the bid and then hit the left trigger while they dealt the hand.

So if this is in fact true, that they planned this, one would hope that if the system is able to detect it that it will also know that it was only done once or twice.

If this is true, it's absolutely genius. They're bringing a genuine (more or less) test of your character into a game about good and evil in a completely unexpected way.

Although if it was deliberate, I don't see why they would have patched it.

It's not true.

Here, straight from the horses mouth... QUOTED from

Okay, for my last question, you have Fable 2 Pub Games with the idea being you can gamble your own gold and carry it on to Fable 2. Now obviously there's been a gold exploit where some people have been racking up millions and millions of gold pieces, so how worried are you that this will upset the balance of the game for these people?

I'm not particularly upset by it, I mean, it's a shame that the exploit was in there... it was such an easy exploit. There is a lot to spend this gold on. A hell of a lot to spend this gold on. You know, I think the value of all the unique items in the world is over twenty million in Fable. And I am pretty sure, although I'm not absolutely sure, that importing such a vast amount into the Fable world affects your character. I'm not sure, that may have been thrown in at the end, but we were thinking about having a 'you obviously cheated' mechanic.

Your teeth go brown or something?

Your teeth go black, yeah! So every time you smile people run away! But you're a millionaire! [laughs]

PM is pulling our leg. This is a glitch/bug all the way. The first time I noticed it, it happened on accident. I seriously doubt they have any way to detect if you have encountered the glitch apart from assuming you used it if you have tons of gold.

Maybe you would just be labled a cheater in the game by NPCs and mocked. Hopefully its just that, since the only reason i spent $10 on that excuse of an arcade game was so i can buy a castle right off the bat without using the glitch for anything else.
