Isn't it a double-edged blade? None of the Pro-LBP crew has played the game either so while some people treat it like the second coming of Jesus(or a "KILLER APP") AM I THE MORON HERE for simply pointing out it looks overhyped?

Same thing happened in 2006 with Gears, iirc. Many people eagerly awaited it with no "proof" that it was going to be as good as it was, but the pre-emptive bashers were booed down to oblivion (though joystiq was still on the old star system back then, before that disappeared into limbo and they did the rework for avatars and the heart system)

people have played it. at sony events and other shows. i've heard nothing but positive things from them and wish the sony truck would pull up outside so i can have some fun

Oh yeah everyone knows that. Just like how a lot of these hardcore xbox fanboys are all of a sudden JRPG lovers now that FF 13 is coming. I guess you can pretty much say fanboys of any system are predictable.

I've consistently said that FFXIII is the one game that would make me regret not owning a ps3.

Even if this game was coming out for the 360 I wouldn't be raving about it as you are tmac. Because there are at least 5 games that I rank above it in terms of deserving all this hype and actually being better all around in terms of substance.

Again I'll repeat FFXIII has always been the game that makes the ps3 a must have system.

Now that it's on the 360 it makes the argument for owning a ps3 VERY WEAK in my opinion.

My stance on FFXIII has NEVER wavered. I'm as interested in it today as I was years ago when it was announced for the ps3.

I've played the demos for Uncharted and Heavenly Sword at Gamestops. And I've seen vids of the game. All point to the same thing...MEDIOCRE. Sorry you can't handle the fact that sony pushed out Tomb Raider: Male Version with Prettier Graphics and Goddess of War: With Boobies and that not everyone fell for it as being great games.

Azure, Uncharted is actually a really fun game. I thought the demo was pretty "meh" as well but the full game was a ton better.

If you're looking for a game that fits the "overhyped mediocre game because of the lack of games around it at the time", Resistance fits the bill much better than Uncharted, which would stand on its own even now.

Exactly Dante, you don't know whether it's going to be good or not, so what's up with the hype for every darn game that comes out with a marketing push. It goes both ways.
Hype is retarded. PERIOD. Doesn't matter if you're halo or killzone freak, get a life. Try the game WHEN IT COMES OUT and decide whether it's good or not.

I don't even think "hype" is that bad. Sometimes it gets annoying when it reaches Halo levels and the game is all over stuff beyond gaming (e.g. drinks and food products). But I see nothing wrong with being optimistic about upcoming games.

Blah, blah, blah... same old tune under any nickname. You say that about all PS3 exclusives and use FFXIII as your one "out" to prove you're trying to be fair.

Wow a bit defensive aren't we azure? I didn't say names or even hint at specific names. Also a quick tidbit for you, I don't care about FF 13 at all. I lost all interest in JRPGs when I played my first western RPG (Oblivion) when it came out.

reviews are not going to help you in that regard, buddy. The game is hyped; therefore, honesty and unbiased assessments are the last thing you're gonna read from just about everyone. The trick is that you don't know if the high reviews are worthy or not until you play the thing yourself. From what I've played and read this year, there's about a 20 percent chance 9's and 10s are actually worthy.
That's not a jab on sony or lbp...it happens on every console with ever hyped game that has millions spent on marketing.
