Super Street Fighter II THDR on track for 2008
Although it appears to be missing its summer release window, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is apparently in the "home stretch" according to Rey Jimenez, the game's associate producer.
In an interview with the Street Fighter Blog, Jimenez explains that the title is "closing out all the bugs" from the open beta and "other open issues." He believes that "barring any unforeseen catastrophic event," the game should be out this year. Given how jam-packed this holiday season is already, maybe a delay wouldn't be so "catastrophic" at this point.

I was really looking forward to playing this game during the summer, but if it comes out sometime in October I'll be a happy Street Fighter. Chun-Li FTW

I wish they'd make one of these controllers for the Xbox 360 since the Dpad on the 360 is difficult to accurately pull some moves off.

Finally, a chance to prove my skill at spinning, legs flailing, across the screen!
Seriously though, this will shine on XBL, bring it on!

This year eh? I'll believe it when I see it!

Pretty cool as long as the numerous issues with the beta are fixed...I'd expect they will be since it was a beta.
Only question mark is online play...Capcom hasn't exactly had a stellar record thus far.

No dude! Enough with the delays!
This is absolutely unbelievable! This game was supposed to be out last October. How hard is it to make this game? New IPs are developed in less time, and these guys are taking forever. In a few months SFIV will follow it...smart move Capcom!

This is effort wasted... if they were going to use this style, apply it to DARKSTALKERS. Or MARVEL VS CAPCOM3.
Or the best idea yet... drop the 2D fighter projects and give us POWERSTONE 3 or a RIVAL SCHOOLS sequel.

As much as I anticipated this game its giving me blue balls.
First they give me a tiny chiny chubby with their scaled old school give with their picture perfect 1080P gif.
Then delay.
Then gimp the graphics.
Then delay.
Now, I can't just get it up for this game anymore.

I think Super Street Fighter II TLDR is a better title for this game. That being said, I cant wait for this game to be released.

So how many "Street Fighter II" games does this make total? 10? 12? I've lost count...
Dustin @ Sep 16th 2008 1:54PM
Man the longer I have to wait for this the less I care about it. I was so ready to dive back into this summer, but everytime it is delayed I care a little less. I know that isn't rational, but it is still how I feel about this game.
Chad @ Sep 16th 2008 2:37PM
The game creates too many paradoxes.
I can't imagine not owning this beautiful port of an arcade classic.
I can't imagine playing this on a d-pad.
I can't imagine paying $40 for an arcade stick to play a $12.50 download game (or w/e similar price it will be).
GoonieGooGoo @ Sep 16th 2008 3:39PM
This game is taking so long to be released that its nearing a time when it could become irrelevant as SF IV nears home release.
Wiinterfang @ Sep 16th 2008 8:20PM
This game is so disappointing, so beautiful handraw sprites, so terrible animation.
