When worlds collide it's often awesome, producing something greater than the sum of two parts. But sometimes it makes something absolutely cringe worthy. Sadly, when rapper Soulja Boy discovered Braid and gave his considerate, well-reasoned and utterly profane critique (which you can watch right after the break, if you're not at work), it was one of the latter situations.
Oh, and while you watch, try to decide which is more entertaining: watching Soulja Boy mistake Braid for bong time fodder or reading comments from people who are so angry at him for not "getting it."
I'll give two shits about his views on braid when he learns to spell, learns to speak so that I can understand him, and back peddles on the whole "This is a great game if you smoke weed and you are high" thing.
I'd be jealous, but we all know he'll blow his money on weed and houses, just like Hammer.
For someone so concerned about proper English, did you, perhaps mean "backpedal"? I've never done any back peddling, but I imagine selling spinal columns is not a particularly lucrative market.
The design elements are brilliant! The suited man makes him so plain and relatable. And the whole game sticks pretty closely to the mario paradigm, opening up a focus on time mechanics and not on how to play the game.
I could make a long argument about how one could backpeddle (go back on the peddling of a stupid statement) but I shant good sirrah. Backpedal may be sort of correct, but I get my correctness from the gut. The truthiness of the backpeddling shall henceforth be clear.
Soulja Boy huh? Someone send this idiot over to Iraq and Afghanistan if he's really a soulja! I hope Ice T has some street cred left and beat him within an inch of his life.
Lol. I know he's ghetto but you guys are taking it to the far corners of the uptight spectrum. That crap is actually funny. Thats the same thing you'd hear from me and my friends if someone sat us down in front of that turd with a case of beers. Games shouldnt have easy buttons.
OMMFG! This guy is one dumb mofo! I wish I could just reach in my PC as slap his dumbass. Did he even graduate? This bastard cant even communicate, how the fuck is he making money again? Its people like this that bug the crap outta me. Its like they are proud that they are ghetto or something.
I listen to rap and am a fan of some rappers but this guy is taking it to the extreme. I wonder how he tells someone something normal like hes going to the store to buy some toiler paper or that he needs an oil change. I'm just amazed at what is accepted in our society.
Modern rap has sold out. Anyone who isn't already established as a quality rapper (some people here probably don't think there is such a thing) just puts out some stupid dance song to make money.
This guy did nothing more than put terrible, incoherent lyrics onto a catchy beat that someone he knows made and that people like to dance to in clubs/jam to on the radio/etc.
I don't even think most people know what his hit song is about, definitely not subject matter a respectable woman would dance to. And he won't get as much as you think, his record label will make the majority of the money
And for the record, Souljah Boy owes Ice-T, if it wasn't for people like him, noone would listen to the crap that gets put out nowadays. Ice-T shouldn't waste time responding to or even paying attention to anything that anyone on Souljah Boy's level says
ever heard of MC hammer? Vanilla Ice? 2-live crew? Sir mix-a-lot? Third Bass?
silly raps and over-the-top dance moves have been a part of hiphop for over 20 years so you can dead that nonsense of yours now.
this always happens every 5 years or so...people all catch amnesia and forget about the silly dance songs *they* listened to as kids, just to bash the music kids listen to today. sad, really.
im with tdubbs and riggs. nowdays rappers make more money selling ringtones than selling albums. so now the music doesnt have to be good, it just has to be catchy. i hate all of Soulja Boy's music as someone who has been listening to Nas, Jay-Z, Outkast, Eminem, Big L, etc. for years but i will admit that his music is very catchy. if people actually knew what they were singing about and what "superman that hoe" actually means, i guarantee they would not play it at all. this is almost as bad as before everyone figured out what "skeet" meant.
Hip-Hop is dead, and it's people like him that dont know anything about rap past the new millennium that are setting our people back.
I mean seriously, this is the type of guy that is popular in terms of black entertainment? Does he have any musical talent, or even the ability to speak properly?
