Get a look at Home's 'extended closed beta'

As we mentioned in yesterday's guided tour of PlayStation Home, most of the game's virtual world's "spaces" have undergone some significant visual re-tooling since it was announced at GDC '07. Today we can illustrate the point with fresh screens from the latest extended closed beta client for PS3's answer to Second Life.
The apartment space itself hasn't really been tweaked that much, but the view off the balcony has (it's quite gorgeous in person, really). Check out both our original and updated galleries below to see how many changes you can spot.

PS3's answer to Second Life? Zing?
Autopsy15 @ Sep 18th 2008 11:32PM
You'd only get a Zing! if it was original.
No Zing! for you.
Autopsy15 @ Sep 18th 2008 11:34PM
Rather, no Zing! for Randy.
Bad, Randy, bad!

Hmmm... I didn't see any furries in those screen shots. They better patch that in if they want to compete.
Flame @ Sep 18th 2008 10:57PM
Sony should just release this to be over with it. That massive hype is now dead. What they need to do is start looking at what XBL and implement it on PSN.
Eggy @ Sep 19th 2008 5:11AM
Laggy games, pay to play and annoying teens?
Maverick Saturn @ Sep 19th 2008 6:43AM
I'd prefer if Sony offered something different, even if its home, I already have XBL, would be a bit boring having another one on my PS3 ¬_¬
Rob Bourne @ Sep 19th 2008 9:19AM
Hey Eggy, the Teens on PSN are just as annoying (as are the racist assbags and the ones with a fetish for other peoples' mothers).
Games are laggier than XBL too, believe me.
As for paying, I'd like them to lower the price a little, it doesn't need to be so expensive in this day and age. I'm still happy to pay something thtough, for such a stable and fully integrated service.
As for Home, is it all seamless i.e. no loading screens when you go to another area?
Kneel B4 Zurg! @ Sep 19th 2008 10:41AM
@ Flame
I get your point maybe the word "implement" is what got people to jump up yapping.
FYI
LOL at all the which one system is has the most lag. What determines that is location/network/connection/ modem, all those factors.
Online for each system Xbox/Ps3 is like NASCAR, theyre all built the same, so it has nothing to do with, which Sys. has more lag.
Why i even wasted time posting response? i dont know...(Things you do @ work, bored)
As for the teens and racists your now sounding like a Horde-Alliance rants in WoW. Its the same on either side you...
:P
Kneel B4 Zurg! @ Sep 19th 2008 10:44AM
omg pass me a coffee, for i am now the typo King.
jumpshot @ Sep 19th 2008 4:34PM
Right, but the "N" in PSN is for network. And Live is also a network. There are many factors for lag, but when you have people comparing side to side from the same location, it's kind of hard to argue which network experience the most lag. I have done so, and PSN is sadly much slower than Live.

The female to male user ratio seems highly disproportionate to reality.

Courtney @ Sep 19th 2008 2:38AM
I just don't care and can't think of any reason I should.
philmcphail (Free Mr.ESC!) @ Sep 19th 2008 2:52PM
Well for me, HOME's trophy room seems kick ass. I mean getting a room to view 3D models of your achievements from all of your games doesn't feel awesome to anyone? ANYONE? But other than that, I'm not gonna care for it in any other way. I mean I not gonna get too into the personalization and what not. Heres a video of what the trophy room is like. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lphNGDN7bvU) If my 360 has taught me anything, its that achieving equals fun :) Sometimes :(
Metal_Gear @ Sep 19th 2008 7:53AM
Anyone who brings up the lack of females in a game is the example why most females play as male characters. Stop watching pr0n, saying hello to a girl wont cause them to strip and jump on you.

Aside from all the other chat...
IMO Home gets the DAIKATANA award for the year...
Too much hype, not enough thinking. I understand they had great idea's/ expectations for Home originally.
As ive heard many times, it wouldve been better if Sony shuts its yap, doesnt reveal too much, and delivers.
