Having only played DQVIII on the PS2 I knew very little of the previous iterations until news of the DS versions.

I like the concept of experiencing generations of characters within a single game. In a way it makes me think of Lunar and Lunar 2 and how the characters in those games were connected. Obviously this is a bit different.

Looking forward to a US release; gotta get IV first though!

I'm looking forward to the Dragon Warrior 5... Hopefully, I'm done with all the other RPG's that are in line vying for my time...

I bought Pocket Monsters Platinum, still waiting for it to arrive. It's my first import title, and after a year+ of formally studying Japanese, I think I'll be able to read the text pretty well (with the help of jisho.org), since it's all in hiragana, and since it's essentially written to be comprehendible to a Japanese kid, after all.

Pokemon Platinum is awesome, I picked it up launch day - it's similar to Diamond/Pearl but many more features, greatly expanded online functionality, and new areas (Torn World).

DQV is my second favorite next to III. I am really hoping that we see an actual localization in either NA or EU but if not there's always the SFC version with the translation patch.

The accents in Dragon Quest IV DS make my eyes bleed.
