The help said something about Remote Play working, or do you mean just folding@home and not the LIVE app?

Was about to say you made a mistake, then I saw price and figured, maybe its not so bad. Still not sure whether its worth even THAT price. Anyway, play for yourself and see, form your own opinion on it :)

Yeah :D

It was only $20 after tax so I figured it *should* be able to deliver that much entertainment in some form.

I didn't mind the demo and didn't think it was as bad as it was made out to be. I'm also working on collecting the exclusives so eh.. We'll see. :D

I was actually trying to cure cancer tonight while I sleep, thought two consecutive updates was strange, then I got the "replaced by Life with Playstation" memo, then came here to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

The new firmware fixed major issues with the Japanese PSN store and I have no idea what it really did for us in the U.S.

Yeah the latest firmware wasn't intended for the world market, just for Japan to fix store bugs.

I installed it a few days ago hoping it was a patch for the Bluetooth headset problems. Guess I'll keep waiting like usual.

Is it me ... or is this not nearly as useful as the Wii one?

I mean, the Wii one gives me local weather, not the weather in the capital, and doesn't just use web browser.

It seems a bit ... crap.

if your in the middle of nowhere like me it wouldnt matter the closest weather i can get is Toronto, Canada that goes for the Wii and Life with Playstation,

gotta agree on the usefull part because the Wii one you can cycle through what info about the weather you get whereas with this all you see is temp and a pic representing the current weather, but considering I have TheweatherNetwork installed on my comp anyway i only have to make one simple click in the icon in the Tray and I got all the info i need , i find neither usefull in that respect

I'm in Milwaukee and I have to go off of Chicago weather. They didn't even bother doing my states capital (Madison) which would be just as useless.

Version 1, though. Mainly I want text zooming.

It looks very slick, well presented and the nice touch being that whilst viewing the 'LIVE' channel, Folding@Home is still running. The screensaver has also taken a slight upgrade.
Two points for improvement -
1. A slightly fiddly thing is that when you select your area on the world map and then click on the news items, there's no zoom. So even on today's large LCDs it's still a little tricky to read the detail.
2. It would be cool to be able to filter the new news channels so that instead of getting banking news (I'm depressed!) I can feed sports news through the LIVE channel for my region.

They say Life with PlayStation is a rip-off of the Wii weather and news channel. But the Wii doesn't help cure cancer.

Wii Weather isn't HD. Doesn't have up-to-the-minute news. No cloud formations. No custom music. No curing cancer.

I would like to ask them what other way could Sony have made this app NOT be like Wii Weather in some fashion or form?

This is a really good feature, but i think you should be able to access f@h separately as well.. that would solve remote play problems as well..

Nice.

Do agree need to be able to zoom in the browser window as i can not read Sh*t on my 42" too small.

Would also be nice to 'filter' channels to sport , gaming etc as mentioned.

interesting concept if they feel to expand on this. some ideas

-Channel for game release date, each capital could give a list of games comming in the near future.

-PSN / home type channel for tournements etc

-PSN numbers, give details on the number of people online in each counrty, most popular game etc?

-everyones going to mention this but if it could be linked to google earth / multimap is some way

It's a nice start, but sony needs to do fix some details

- you can't even read the news on a 46" flat

- why only english news ?

- switzerland is small but well ... we've got the black holed cern, forgot that ?

- remote play is very nice, but pointless, as you cant read the news

- what about weather forecast, i can look out the window the see what the weather's doing ;-)

- what about a rss-feedreader ?

but after all a nice start, the devs just need some time ...

Well, you can't really put trophies for the Life channel. Whats the trophy going to be? Bronze: Read over 25 news articles. Also, you could have trophies for the Folding @ Home channel but you can really only have 3. One trophy each for a certain amount of protein folds completed (for example: 50 completed=Bronze, 100=Silver, 250=Gold). Other than that, there arent too many trophies to give. But yes, it is funny that you thought of buying the app. lol

Are the cloud images real-time? It should be possible for them to do that now, as you can get a Google Maps overlay for clouds. OK, its not real-time, but its usually only a few hours old.

Looks good though, will have to download it.

It's kinda hard on the eyes when you are looking at a dark globe and then a bright white page pops up. Black background with white text would work better.
