I sent this time in to Joystiq a day or two ago, but I guess they didn't feel it was worth posting. ...after all, I think the GH: Jimmy Hendrix game has been rumored or mentioned in the past somewhere else.

As soon as they released Aerosmith I knew they were just going to keep soaking their customers with different bands and artists and look how it's going now!

Man the market for these games are going to be very flooded if they keep on making spinoffs. I on one hand is sick seeing all of these different spinoffs.

You have got to be kidding me!? And they want to provide a subscription DLC service to boot...This is crap, nothing against Hendrix, just sick of GH/Activision being greedy and way overdoing it. They are going to water down the GH series so much that they are going to drive people away rather than attract them to the series.

I don't think I will be buying any more of these music games besides Rock Band 2 (considering all the DLC I've purchased already).

Hold on! That's not Guitar Hero, that's a Strat right there. This guy is playing Rock Band, not Guitar Hero. Unless he happens to have one of those copies of GH:Aerosmith that seems to work with the RB instruments. Either way, I'm calling "bull". That statue really isn't playing. Oh Joystiq, trying to pull a fast one on us, aren't you?

You have a good point and raise an interesting question.

That is in fact a strat.

Since the creation of GH it has always been pro Gibson.

However, Hendrix was an avid Strat lover.

We will have to see how it plays out.

Damn big buttons too by the way...

I don't imagine it'll be a big deal, Tom Morello's "Arm the Homeless" guitar is a telecaster.

While I don't mind the spinoffs, I would much rather just see these games as dlc instead. Everything from gh3 dlc to future spin offs should be focused around GH WT. The game is gonna cost a ton of cash anyways.

As far as Hendrix goes that will just be yet another artist you won't be seeing in rockband.

If the trend continues the RB franchise is gonna be hard pressed to get any songs from anywhere.

Really I don't care about this Hendrix spin off in particular, cuz anyone who has read my comments on the song release articles knows I want Hendrix. I don't care how I get it, but as long as I get it. I do agree though that this and all other spin offs should be DLC.

I don't know why they can't minus the money making factor. Right now I'm getting both GH4 and RB2. I love RB and GH4 has Hendrix and the music creation.

How about they save a lot of money by not making box art, packaging, etc and just make all these games downloads? Hear that Activision? Use it as a "green" approach to gaming by not making all this wasteful crap that sits on someone's shelf (not to mention the convenience of not having to disc swap to play other songs)...
