Unless he was cryptically teasing the appearance of a special-edition Wii branded with the author's face, we think Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently suggested that the company's Tom Clancy franchise would be gracing the Wii in the future. "Tom Clancy will appear at one point," Guillemot told GameDaily in an interview. "We need to make sure they [look good]."
An integral part of making them look good, of course, lies in Ubisoft's engine technology, which first needs to be adapted for Nintendo's odd-one-out hardware. "We have engines that were created for the next-generation consoles," explained the Ubi boss. "We had to re-engineer a certain number of engines to be sure we could use the quality of the machine. Even without the [high-end] graphics, the experience can still be very interesting."
And there you have it. Tom Clancy's Very Interesting Experience Without The Graphics confirmed for release in, uh, "the future."

It will be great if it is like Metroid Prime 3, but fun.

Honestly, the exclusive arrangement between Tom Clancy and Ubisoft is probably the worst thing that could have happened to the franchise. Having bought (3) Ubisoft games in the past 18 months, I can tell you I'm never buying another one. Extremely low production quality, and non-existent support. A total joke.
And if you think Tom Clancy games on XBox360/PS3/PC are crapware, imagine what they'll puke up for Wii.

So long as Ubisoft starts treating Wii as a serious platform, as opposed to a cash cow that can be abused for the other serious platforms, i'll be satisfied
One at a time, more developers will start having to give major title support. Wii's at 47% marketshare, and rising.

Note how instead of saying it will be fun, he says it will be interesting.

I've never actually seen a picture of Tom Clancy (or KLON-SY) before, and I must say, he looks exactly like I thought he would. Not enough American flags though.

I guess the CEO of Ubisoft is not aware that a Tom Clancy game is on the Wii already. It's called Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent. This is really a pointless story and it makes me sad that nobody on the various sites that carried it bothered to dig a little deeper.

"Tom Clancy will appear at one point,"
I assume they mean "again". Lest anyone forget:

The difference in computational power between Wii and 360/PS3 is vastly more significant than people realize. For one, the CPU of 360/PS3 has over four times higher MHz.

Seriously, internet detectives. Saying "Tom Clancy will appear at one point" when referring to a forthcoming lineup of games is *not* the same as saying, "Tom Clancy will appear at one point for the first time ever."
Double Agent has little bearing on this context.

two thumbs up on the pic, luddie. it's puntastic.
i'm not a wii-owner but a tom clancy wii game might be fun. of course, the complexity will need to be scaled back, but, sometimes i enjoy more simple games.
