Unfortunately, it will sell like crazy because it's a Nintendo brand game with Wii in the title. (See: Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, and even Mario Kart Wii.) Let's face it, though, this game will be horrible. "Let's make a music game that you can pretend to play!" I mean, really, it's like paying $50 to play air guitar.

This game looks great! A freestyle music game with 60+ instruments, Nintendo songs and Mii Compatibility. Perhaps the Super Mario theme song isn't your cup of tea, try the borderline speed metal F-Zero X theme.

It has nothing to do with the music; I'd love a Rock Band with Nintendo music. I hardly thing it's right to rate down someone because they spoke their opinion. Mii support has become extremely gimmicky. And I mean, from every person who's tried the demos at E3, it's pretty clear the game plays the music whether you try or not. And they already said it doesn't rate your performance. So what you get is a $50 package of 60 songs that you can mess with the tempo on. ...whoo. I'm sorry if you do find this interesting, because I don't mean to offend you. But the fact does remain this is being marketed to the casual crowd like almost all of Nintendo's games now.

In all honesty, this had a lot more potential. I'm disappointed. Even if this turns out good, it's definitely not gonna be $50.

Nintendo, you wanna make a good music game that doesn't take skill? Make Electroplankton Wii. Now that was a nice foray into the music genre.

"Make Electroplankton Wii."

Wow, I couldn't agree more.

I've seen enough WiiMusic bashing, I won't bother adding to it other than by saying Nintendo has a plethora of DS titles (Electroplankton, Hotel Dusk, New Super Mario Bros.)that could easily be given sequels on the Wii (just like with Trauma Center, Cooking Mama, Drawn to Life) and instead they release THIS.

Honestly, I don't have enough room in my house to have each of these instruments. I don't have enough room in my house to have each of these pretend video game instruments. Nobody does.

Thus, Wii music is a fantastic solution. It allows for more creativity of a title such as Rock Band, while taking up exponentially less space. If you focus on the instruments you don't already have (cello, the violin, piano, etc.), instead of those you do (guitar, guitar, guitar, bass guitar, drumset, guitar), there's really no contest.

That's why I want Wii Music. I'd spend $50 for a buttload of fake instrument playing instead of $130 for a limited set of fake instrument playing anyday.

Unlike the rest of you, I've decided NOT to pass judgement on a game I haven't even played.

You should probably stop acting sensible, or you might break the Internets.

I persnally feel playing a "real" musical instrument is emotionally more enriching but I can see how people are dawn to games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band. I really like Shigeru and I think I kind of understand what he and Nintendo are trying to do with the Wii. Wii Music? I have no clue as to what is going on here. Am I supposed to be paying fifty bucks for this? Anybody?

I think this sort of thing would be wonderful for people who are afraid to play something for fear of failing.

Can't anyone else picture a toddler with a beaming face?

your comment is the only reason i would think about purchasing this game. my two year old son would love to make music with his adored wiimote.

i'm a musician, and not the plastic kind, but i think this is a fair attempt at involving the casual gamer in a music based game. creative use of the wiimote, if nothing else.

frst comment btw

Well, I plan on getting the game. But I also plan on getting Guitar Hero World Tour. I'm not going to push the game aside just because Miyamoto got payed to say "It's better than a game". This game comes out 6(maybe 7, I forget) DAYS before GHWT. Maybe... Nintendo's competing? Maybe because the game will be SO KICKASS that it'll stop holiday sales? Hmm...

I figure the game'll be like Wii Play; it'll become one of the games that's synonymous with the term "Wii". The title LOOKS to become an instant classic; I mean it's a game that never fucking ends(Animal Crossing, anyone?), so it's bound to be a favorite party game for people who have brain problems and/or don't have enough money for Guitar Hero 4 or Rock Band 1/2.

Now... if only you guys'd put up a "Nintendo Press Conference Predictions" post. I predict that Pikmin 3 will get publicly announced along with a trailer and/or gameplay.
