Next Monday is Mega Man 9 Monday
23
Wherever you're reading this, wave your hands in the air like you just don't care, because Mega Man 9 has been dated for North America.
After months of build-up and hype and oh-mai-gawd-is-this-really-happening levels of disbelief, September 22 is the date we all need to circle with copious amounts of red. That's 57 and a half hours away at the time of writing. Capcom, we think we might just love you. Best of all, North American Wii owners will be amongst the first to play the game -- Japan has to wait a further two days, and owners of other consoles will have to exercise some patience (the PS3 will get it September 25, while the Xbox 360 version is due -- snigger -- October 1).
While you wait for your chance to take down the Robot Masters, pass the time by getting misty-eyed in our Mega Man boxart gallery.

I recommend the stomach flu. It only lasts 24 hours and you always make a full recovery. Just don't drink in front of your co-workers on Tuesday.

I'm happy, but how about giving Mega Man 9 a price tag?
Come on, Capcom. We already know Protoman will cost 200 points.

I think it's gonna be 1000 points. The "9.99" price tag on the boxart makes it seem that way.

1) it was confirmed to be 1000 points
2) looking forward to ProtoMan 9 for 1200 points
3) raises a good question though... how much DLC will there be? And what will be the final FULL price?
4) as a bigger X fan myself, I hope to not be disappointed. Going to miss charged shots and sliding/dashing.

You couldn't have summed me up more perfectly.
Charge shots and dashing are worth $2 and Capcom knows it.
I really like the concept of DLC, but when not as much when it's stuff that would normally be (free)unlockable or a secret in a game.
Either way, Capcom'll get my $2 for Protoman.

And my Wii is still disconnected from the internet
I'll probably cave this weekend and go to Radio Shack with my compatibility list and pick up a compatible Ethernet adapter.

I agree, this game is crap. Make a megaman that uses the wiimote ffs. I'm sick of how nintendo fanboys glorify the old times. There's a reason why companies moved on.
I can't believe this thing got like three articles this week and not one force unleashed post.

Lonesome, companies moved on because technology improved. Nostalgia still has value.

While I am excited for Mega Man 9, it would be really sweet if another big VC release came out the same day Earthworm Jim, Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country 64 or something of that nature.

Hey Chris,
I can't find the article again but MM9 is supposed to have challenges the same achievements for the 360 version and dlc to play as proto man is coming out on oct 6th. Can you help to confirm this?
