Rock Band Weekly: Rush's Moving Pictures, individual tracks

Next week's Rock Band DLC will be a second attempt at making Rush's Moving Pictures album available. Harmonix will also be releasing several individual tracks that may tickle your wallet's fancy.

I do appreciate the bone being thrown, but "You're No Rock N' Roll Fun" marks the exact moment when Sleater-Kinney started to phone it in.

Drat, I thought Sorrow was going to be one of the 20 free ones. Regardless, I've been waiting for actual Bad Religion ever since that mockery of a cover in GH1.

She Sells Sanctuary was almost enough to make me buy that silly aerosmith game now I don't have to, thans harmonix!

I actually bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith just a week ago for She Sells Sanctuary... Now I feel like a dumbass.

YES! I've been pining for a Hot Hot Heat song on Rock Band and they came through!

And, ahem, Moving Pictures!

I'm still curious as to how they plan on handling the vocal track for YYZ.

It will make me giggle if the singer has to copy the guitarist with their voice. "Ba buh ba ba ba baba ba buh ba".

YYZ will be greyed out if you have a Vocalist in your band. That's how they handle it.

...But I could still sing along with it, just not for points right?

I don't want to let the dream die. ;_;

They should bring a live version of it in the future with some of Alex's trademark pointless lyrics, although they more frequently feature on Villa.

They should give us Tom Sawyer for free...I mean, it's in the game already. The cover isn't so amazing, but the original is a classic.

Are Tom Sawyer and Limelight different from the covers?

I mean, obviously they're the originals, but do they play differently?

I'm ok with the covers, and I already feel pissed that they want me to rebuy Limelight.

If they don't play differently, I'm not getting them.

I do agree with whomever said Tam Sawyer should be free, that makes sense.

Harmonix does'nt WANT you to rebuy limelight and tom sawyer,They simply give you the option too...if you dont want to then quit bitching.

Kasabian is bad ass.. good pick for a track too, this video is crap though, find a copy of the song and give it a listen, it rocks

Awesome week. I think they really ought to do you a favor and leave the mic reverb on the 'large hall' setting for 'She Sells Sanctuary'... Singing that song with nothin' on your voice is gonna be a real humbling situation. I still have high hopes that The Cult's 'Electric' album will wind up as a DLC megablast one day...

And Stone Roses? Awesome band, but unfortunately this is from the second album, so I will begrudgingly buy it with hopes that Ian Brown, et al, will decide it's a good idea to put more Stone Roses songs, specifically from the FIRST album, on RB.

Is there a reason why joystiq feels the need to update us about every single DLC for these music games?

Maybe it's just me (probably is), but there seems to be an overabundance of posts on joystiq about RB and GH.

Oh well, I'll just continue to scroll past half of the day's "news"...

Please ignore this comment. I love the regular RB DLC updates, and hugely appreciate having the YouTube links in one place. Spartacus hates joy, puppies, and America, as well as fun.

Rush sucks, but Bad Religion? Hot Hot Heat? Mediocre Sleater-Kinney? Yay!

Bad Religion is my favorite band. Has been for better than a decade. They have to choose the absolute worst BR song and the ONLY one I hate. Figures. Rest of it looks good though. S-K is a VERY nice surprise.

suffer would be good for a whole album. Sorrow isnt their best song but I think it would translate well as a rock band song.
