Rumor: L.A. Noire no longer PS3 exclusive, still a year away

The long-in-development L.A. Noire, a collaboration between Rockstar and ex-Getaway alumni at Australia's Team Bondi, may no longer be exclusive to PlayStation 3. The title – which has been shrouded in mystery befitting of its film noire trappings – was originally rumored to be bankrolled by Sony itself for release solely on its platform.
Speaking at GC Asia '08, Game Developers' Association of Australia president Tom Crago said that, from what he surmises, development on the game has "another year or so to go." He also revealed that it "could be the biggest budget video game in development anywhere in the world," calling it a "massive, massive project." Crago also indicated that the game is in development for both PS3 and 360, which, if true, would rule it out as the PS3-exclusive Rockstar project Sony has been touting once and for all.

and from what i can see the ps3 has a better exclusive line up
MGS4 UNCHARTED RATCHET AND CLANK R2 MOTORSTORM 2 LBP KZ2
compared to FABLE HALO GEARS AND VIVA PINYATA
and personally i dont think the 360 is worth the money as all im looking forward to on the 360 is gears 2 and nothing else, so after gears 2 im gonna have to try and find a reason to keep my 360

It's a rumor, even though why not port it if u spent so much on it so you can make it back faster. Plus, since when was getting a 300 dollar dvd player that's going break down on you and scartch your discs with some games not avaible on the PS3 but available on the PC with higher resolutions and better everything else cheaper when you buy it and free add-ons; is better then a system with exclusive games you can't get anywhere else Bluray player Wifi, bluetooth, and MGS 4 counts as it's own reason. Fact:
This game was alleged to be the PS3 exclusive in exchange for Sony letting R* out of its timed exclusivity of GTA IV.
I remember hearing Jack Tretton say the the exclusive franchise is yet unannounced.
The fact is that Sony will get an exclusive franchise from T2 and if this RUMOR turns out to be true we can all assume that LA Noire is not that game.

This is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT the PS3 exclusive game that Jack was talking about at E3 2007. L.A. Noire was NEVER confirmed to be an exclusive.
Jack Trentton said that RSN wanted to make a game for the PS3 to really see what Cell could do. He was NOT talking about Noire.

This isn't NEW news...SONY broke off releations with Bondi on this game well before Harrison left (they didn't see eye to eye).
From GI.Industry June 16 2007 :: The financial report also stated that fellow Take-Two title LA Noire is due out in fiscal 2008. The spokesperson suggested that both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases are likely, stating, "LA Noire is being developed for next-generation systems."

LA Noire was never confirmed. I do remember reading that it was not LA Noire or Red Dead Revolver 2 but a new exclusive IP. In fact, I remember reading that it will be two exclusives. I just can't find that source.

Fact 1: This game was announced as an exclusive, because guess what? Sony was funding it, something happened between Harrison and McNamara and (it is rumored that) they stopped funding the game.

Actually, Tru Fantasy Online wasn't that big. Several reasons why (that also shine light on how Xbox still haven't caught on in Japan, but those truths will be buried under "Japan hates Merican Console BLARGH" responses).
1. True Fantasy Online's competitor would have been... PSO or FFXI. Both games with meager success. They have a userbase but neither ever launched into prime time.
2. The concept of online gaming is STILL very unique in Japanese gamers minds. That's why the JAPANESE consoles are still having issues wrapping their head around this concept. It's thought of as a standard over here. Well, Japan as a culture is dramatically different. And online gaming still hasn't hit mainstream there. That's why the very notion of paying for Xbox Live is bizarre.
3. It's primary market would have been Japan and Xbox was practically dead there.
4. True Fantasy Online got chopped about the same time several projects were chopped. Ironically enough, every project they chopped that did get released didn't do so well.

Lets see, the 360 has Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and bolts, Banjo Kazooie xbla, GTA4 exclusive episodic content, and Fable 2. Microsoft hasn't even started announcing 09 yet.
So it seems to me they are even for the rest of the year.

I'm not gonna argue about the specs of 360 since they aren't any impressive(anymore) but PS3 isn't as much of a powerhouse as Sony PR makes it out to be either.In fact Blu-Ray 50GB space aside and highly controversial Cell(admittably I have little knowledge on this one and how it compares to 360) aside, both are pretty similar graphic,memory and performance wise so don't act like games on PS3 could look photorealistically and stop Global Warming and the same time if only they weren't dumbed down for the 360.
And frankly you're stupid to look for what's described as "next-gen" on consoles in first place.Consoles jump in steps from one generation to another instead of gradually evolving which is why a $300 PC can already outperform 360 and PS3.

1. This is a rumor.
2. It was never confirmed that this was the exclusive in exchange for GTA IV timed exclusivity being dropped.
3. This game looks awesome. Kind of like Black Dhalia the game.
4. Sony will get an exclusive from R* & T2 in exchange for the GTA IV exclusivity.
