Rumor: L.A. Noire no longer PS3 exclusive, still a year away

The long-in-development L.A. Noire, a collaboration between Rockstar and ex-Getaway alumni at Australia's Team Bondi, may no longer be exclusive to PlayStation 3. The title – which has been shrouded in mystery befitting of its film noire trappings – was originally rumored to be bankrolled by Sony itself for release solely on its platform.

Speaking at GC Asia '08, Game Developers' Association of Australia president Tom Crago said that, from what he surmises, development on the game has "another year or so to go." He also revealed that it "could be the biggest budget video game in development anywhere in the world," calling it a "massive, massive project." Crago also indicated that the game is in development for both PS3 and 360, which, if true, would rule it out as the PS3-exclusive Rockstar project Sony has been touting once and for all.

Fernando don't fool yourself, the only reason you don't like the people you listed is because we knock the wii and refuse to put up with Nintendo's bullshit which pisses you off. I know this and use it to my advantage, and sometimes I do it just for the hell of pushing buttons.

There's a difference between me and the Killjebus' and Curmeos here...besides me owning a 360. I can back up my attacks intelligently and when I'm going for a cheap little zing I know when to attack and when not to. Well yes I do time things incredibly well usually, but I've been pretty anti-wii for most of the time I've been here which was well before this year's E3 (the turning point for public opinion of Nintendo on this site). I remember early on in my time here how unpopular it was to hate the wii. Not even I could see something as bad as this year's Nintendo conference at E3 happening.

I am misunderstood though. For some reason, wii hatred=love for sony to a lot of people on here. I've never...ever...said that I'm a ps3 fanboy or that I love sony on here, just that I have a ps3 and I like the system for the most part. I also have a 360, and really I've done probably 70% of my gaming on it since the start of this generation which would make me a 360 fanboy if a fanboy term has to be thrown on me. If someone were to ask me I would either say I'm a PS360 fanboy or I would just say I'm not a fanboy of either, I just hate the wii.

@ tmac. You being called a Sony fanboy is a relic from the days a few years back when Nintendo and MS fans were united against Sony, much like how most Sony and MS fans are united against Nintendo today

Plus the fact that most of the more vehemently anti-Nintendo trolls have a track record of also being markedly pro-Sony

I think you'd be an iddiot to brag this game after seeing 1 trailer which explained little or nothing. Since then, the game vanished into thin air, any bragging there may have been at the start vanished between that time.

Holy crap, a flamewar based on a terrible idea for a game (which no one has heard of or cares about) going multiplatform. Remember FF13, that makes this look stupid.

To be honest, I found joystiq to spin info sometimes in favor of a system to the point where they start some unnecessary fanboyism arugements.

For instance, I think a lot of 360 fanboys were pissed at the mgs4 joke that was a jab to mgs1 and not dvds or the xbox 360. For those who have played mgs1 through, would understand it wasnt pokin fun of the 360 in any form despite that the way Otacon mentionin the PS3 can be perceived differently.

However, I can understand the biasness in these news when they occur, simply because at this point, the majority of gamers owns a 360 and a lot of them are teens who do not want to buy more than one system.

Also spinning news also makes an unheard game(I never heard of this game before,) like LA Noire popular. I do not think this game would attract lot of gamers otherwise, but by spinnin things around with rumors and bs, a detective game that probably plays like CSI, is goin to get more press.

Glad its no longer an exclusive, but since I know nothing about this game, I can not really comment if I'm going to get it for my 360 or ps3, or even if this game is worth buying.

Side note, for what ever reason, when you buy games online, the 360 version always becomes cheaper, faster, then the ps3 version. Why does this happen?

I have been coming to joystiq.com for years now and I must admit that some of the posters here have reached legendary, almost mythical status. I am wonderin why ppl like to mention sdf but not the xdf since the way I see it, there are both people who defend xboxs and pple who defend ps3 and those who defend nintendo. Not pickin on your comment since you have mentioned ppl who are xbox bias, but some posters like to say about fanboys of a system that they are "rival" to, but never address the fanboys of the consoles they own as if their console has no bias fanboys.
