You know, it sounds kind of lame on paper (text) but I have a feeling that there will be some gamers, myself included, who wouldn't mind the whole "Watch and earn" approach to these achievements. Provided that you could be there at that instant when your friend marries a second wife or when their bastard love child is born. Seeing as how I plan on playing the game as if it were me making the choices, I doubt I'd earn some of the more selfish or morally wrong ones. But part of me would still feel guilty about not actually earning them. The moral delimma begins already! Ok, personal issues aside, I'm glad Lionhead designed some of the achievments to include an "unlock by watching the event take place" option. For those who would rather train their pooch then leap off a 500 ft. cliff could still hopefully find a friend who is more daring and gain a little something for watching them go splat sounds like good game design to me. For all those who are nay sayers and want to earn on their own achievements are still allowed to do so by simply leaving before the event.

My friend will enjoy this...he wants a higher gamerscore (so he appears less "noob-like"...his words), but he's not an achievement whore. And me? I'm a recovering one...I'll go for achievements if they're fun and easy now (no more grinding). I'm a completionist.
