Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of September 21st

It's almost like magic. The first day of Autumn hits tomorrow and the game industry intends to start the season as it means to go on. In short, by throwing game after game directly at your face until your wallet sits empty and your hands are blistered from constant gaming. Ouch. Here's the full release list:

Release dates are constantly subject to change, so contact your local retailer if you're uncertain. Feel free to go on an import spree if you feel like it, but keep in mind that DLC for any game generally has to be bought from the PSN store of the same region.

I think that the way the industry loads all the big releases into the fall is completely crazy. There are so many huge releases for all the systems that it's almost not even fair to gamers. There are literally ten games that I could justify buying for the PS3 between now and December, yet I'll only have time to play two or three. Wouldn't you think all the competition from the huge releases would make more publishers back off from this type of release schedule?

Why not drop huge games throughout the year to keep spurring sales, rather than waiting for the huge spike at the holidays?

true but i guess developers wanna get their games on the market quickly before competition arises :P

During the summer there is always the lowest amount of sales due to people being on vacation so therefore, there is a drought in games. Spring is a good time though for companies to release games. However, the holiday season is a smart time to release the highly anticipated game due to holidays such as Christmas. That is the time of year that companies love because their profits rise and thus why big games come out around Christmas. This is one of the reasons why I hate the Christmas season because so much stuff I want comes out all at once =P.
