Survival action game Hydrophobia has been running silent and deep since it was unveiled over a year ago for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Recently, Sony's "semi official" Euro blog ThreeSpeech did a three-part piece on the game. Now, PS3 Attitude has an interview with the developers at Blade Interactive, revealing that the game already has a location all set for the sequel. Could we kindly get a release date for the first one?
Whereas the first Hydrophobia takes place on a sinking ship, The Queen of the World (loosely based on the Freedom Ship), the sequel will occur in a "drowned Boston." We'll now have to wait and see if the first game is any good before we commit our excitement to a sequel taking place in PAX's 2010 East Coast location.

I remeber reading about this in EDGE magazine quite a while ago. I reckon it has potential, something that i would much rather play on my PS3 than my PC for some strange reason, i envisage slouching on my sofa (as opposed to at my desk).
I guess If anyone has a chance to emulate Gene hackman from the original Poseidon Adventure it can't be all bad.

Just wondering: are you basing your opinion on the graphics shown in the gallery attached to this post or the new shots shown over at ThreeSpeech and PS3Attitude?

I have a vague recollection of this game from a long time ago, and the only reason it stood out in my mind was because of a promise for especially realistic water physics, relying on a new water-physics engine, iirc
I like water-based games and wish it well, though its been a helluva long time since this has made news

Everything other than the water looks kinda crap to be honest. But awesome water physics are my fetish, so I'll still get it >.>
Probably jumping the gun a bit with a sequel when we haven't even seen any gameplay footage yet (As far as I know, and I've been following it relatively closely)

Finally a game in Boston! Most underused locale.
Looks underwhelming, but it's a cool concept and I hope it comes out well - really hard to tell without playing it.

Hi Guys,
Quite a few of you are cricising the graphics of the screenshots - quite rightly too as they are at least two years old.
If you go to www.bladeinteractive.com you'll be able to see a funky water tech demo and some much more interesting screenshots. I defy you to say the water still looks rubbish :D
