Let's just say that Rock Band was on its walkabout and that's why it will finally arrive in Australian stores on November 7. Gamespot reports the game will be sold the same way as the European version, with instruments and software offered separately. The good news is that the instruments plus software will only cost $250 AUD ($208), instead of the $300-something the Europeans had to shell out.
What about Rock Band 2? Oh, let's just not talk about that. The Europeans need to get their fix before EA can worry about the land down under, right?

Depending on the condition of the parts sent, assumably any of the following:
- destroyed(and hopefully recycled ;D)
- repaired, item listed as refurbished, then resold where possible
- resent back to customer on successful troubleshooting test
- given to impoverished children who probably would be better off with food, water, educational help, and vaccines

So does this mean we won't have to hear Aussie whine on EVERY comment page about "That DLC sounds awesome, too bad we still don't have RB1" ? I don't really care if they ever got it (dumb JAFA's), but if this means it will shut them up on the forums, fine... let them have it... We all have moved on to RB2.

But when we weren't basking in the nice weather, drinking cold beer in the sun and checking out the local hotties, bitching about Rock Band was all we had! :(

Not to mention enjoying one of the only countries in the world to be barely affected by the global credit crunch, having one of the best public health systems around, having 1/10th the homeless rate and 1/100th of the crime compared to the US, the most beautiful weather and girls on the planet, a much fairer tax system and much more generous welfare system, plus only 4% unemployment leading to tons of available jobs. Geez, i'm glad we're getting RB1 now...we would have never lived without it.

I'm looking at buying something this season, but I can't exactly play Rock Band by myself, so GH:WT is looking better, although I'm wondering which hardware is better?
IE should I buy GH:WT instruments and RB game only, or the other way?

Mic is a mic, majority agrees that GH Guitars are better and the drums are a matter of opinion...
You decide.

I thought about the same thing—which instruments to purchase especially in the case of the drums. I decided with the Rock Band ones as playing the Guitar Hero: World Tour drums, with the cymbals will most likely be a bit awkward on the Rock Band games as the cymbals may not associate with the cymbals in the song being played. But also take into account that the World Tour drums have other features that the Rock Band drums don't (but the Rock Band 2 drums do) though I hear the velocity feature on at least Rock Band 2 is rather subtle.

...And 5 days later Aussies will get GH:WT and say it's the far superior product. At which point I'll spend my time trying to distance myself from those individuals.
(The uneducated lot, not all Aussies. Because it'd be really hard to get away from Aussies in Australia...)

Some poor kid will get this bought for them by their parents, then be fatally stabbed for not waiting a short while for Rockband 2 or GH:WT.

Maybe Rock Band's legs don't work and they wouldn't let it go on it's walkabout...

So wait... what's better?
Rock band or GH:WT?
Because I don't know if we'd get all the DLC that the US gets for Rock Band, and GH:WT will have music editing software type thing with it.

I hope so.....

Joystiq can you add an edit button pretty please?
"I would've shot myself if I wasn't able to play Limelight or Young Man Blues I would not be a happy man." should be "I would've shot myself if I wasn't able to play Limelight or Young Man Blues by now."
