Since the press release for the PSN version has PS3 trophy support as a bullet point in listing what Criterion has added to the game since launch, I'm going to assume the aim is Thursday. In fact, I'm also going to assume the trophy patch was ready awhile ago but was held back to coincide with the PSN launch of BP.

You can set the day/night clock to mimic whatever your console's time is set too. So the hardcore could ride for an actual 24 hours if they wanted to.

What if they make it mandatory? =/

I think that these get added Thursday. Update you Burnout Paradise after the PlayStation Store is updated. I also believe that these are Retro-Active, at least most of them, I don't see how they all could be even if it is always connected to the Criterion Servers.

Criterion said they would be and to continue doing our thing. The game actual records everything you do, so it knows if you've send a mugshot to another player, or if you've been involved in an online Road Rage event. So if you've ever done any of the activities required for specific trophies you should get them retroactively. Unless Criterion changed their mind on the whole retroactive trophy support, which in that case I think everyone has a right to be super pissed.

Ha ha ha... my trophy count will go up infinitely, since nothing I own has added trophies yet, and I'll be picking up at least half of these retroactively.

Keep in mind all the data that's associated with your game saves, that's how it does the trick where you upload your game saves online to review your progress.

Time to pick this title up. Don't know what has taken me so long up to this point, but hats off to Criterion for putting in countless hours to make sure this game has a lot to offer after almost a year on the market.

I agree, that's really dumb. I understand adding online requirements. However there's no reason to make me take a picture just to get a "trophy". All that shows is that Im willing to buy unnecessary sony accessories. As it is right now Im only a few online achievements from having my first platinum trophy, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting now. I'm not buying a camera for an achievement...

Well, those trophies sure have imaginative names like "Drive on the wrong side of the road for 547 yards". How about "Oncoming!" instead. You know, like "Incoming!". In fact, that would work too :)

Sorry to complain, but somebody had to. Other than that, I can't wait for these trophies!

Do the trophies you have already achieved just appear in you trophy list then when you turn on the game after updating it or do the icons in the top right corner show up and make a little noise.

Anyone know how this works. Warhawk had retroactive trophies as well so anyone have any knowledge on what happened there?

Criterion have said that because your save file has your PSN embedded and progress is saved on their servers that trophies should be retroactive.

Looking at the trophy list I can see that the vast majority correspond to the awards that are already in game.

A few, like visiting specific locations, won't be retroactive because I doubt that is information that criterion would specifically want to track.

Actually, VeganTnT, if you've done certain Freeburn or Timed Challenges, they require you to go to the Racetrack, Quarry, Dead Man's Jump, the Damn, etc...So even those might end up being retroactive, though who knows haha.

Criterion is, IMHO, one of the best companies right now, they give more free content in one update then a lot of companies do over a games lifetime. Now my ship needs a TV onboard so I can start playing again.

Absolutely. I only purchased Burnout Paradise after I saw the ongoing after release support and they have secured a future customer. They are now officially my favourite developer for their efforts to continue to add value to my purchase. Major kudos.

It stops people selling the game. Less used copied available equals more new ones sold, so the publishers get the cash instead of Gamestop getting ALL your money.
Indeed, i never see any copies available, everyone keeps it around, especially as we still have 3 new islands with "all new gameplay", and possibly planes!

I dont know...those trophies are way to easy. I was expecting things like " jump into the aire for 1 min. or do 4 spins in a super jump" but those seems pretty easy. I wonder what kind of noise will it make if those are retroactive? you know.. "ding dinding dindindindng" or something. and i hope they do are because it will get frustrated like i did with uncharted.

"Repair your car"?!? pretty lame..
What is the big achievement in repairing a car?

I like the game don't game me wrong and also I like trophies, but these trophies make the concept "cheap". In Eden every trophy requires some working/thinking/effort.

What is with all the complaining that these are "too easy"? Have you put in the time yet? Having achieved platinum status in the game awards I can tell you it's a good 48 hours to accomplish that. Most people I know who put in the time to achieve the same status would ratheer not do it again. I would argue that someone *not* wanting to play the game more is a good gauge that the platinum trophy is at an adequate level as it is.

Yeah it took me a good 50 hours to get 100%, but it was totally worth it for that sweet platinum paint job to show off online. So now I'm going to also be like a level 6 PSN player, sweet.
