We Cheer track list revealed, features 30 'high energy' songs
Ready, ok! Hey, you waggle fans! Stand right up and clap your hands! Namco Bandai has sent along, the complete list of We Cheer songs!
There, that can get us motivated to talk about anything. According to Namco, the over-cute cheer squad you see above will jump and shout to the tune of 30 "high-energy master tracks," including artists such as Boys Like Girls and Paramore, as you wave one or both Wii remotes through the air like "virtual pom-poms." Feel free to check out the game's entire 30 song catalog after the break as you wait for We Cheer to energize retail shelves with pep on September 30. And if this set list doesn't work for you, just remember to be aggressive. Be be aggressive.

Walking on Sunshine is one of the greatest songs ever.

But only because of Philip J Fry.

Agreed.
This is going to knock Rock Band right out of the water!
gir @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:47PM
There's a lot of crappy games out there. Why do you guys have to post them? You know that none of us are interested. So why do you post this garbage?
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:19PM
Actually, just yesterday I was trying to track this info down (ask Gun Barrier). Why? Well, have you SEEN the gameplay footage? If this game can track as accurately as the videos indicate, it will do something Samba De Amigo seems to be incapable of. Work.
Gun Barrier @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:30PM
its true, he was looking for it. Sheppy is a big fan of rhythm games.
gir @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:45PM
Thanks a lot Sheppy. Thanks to you we have to endure these post. Why couldn't you just be more interested in fps games. You'd make a lot of people happy.
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:50PM
Because, if I'm going to be forced down a hallway to an unchanging, inevitable conclusion, why can't I just play Amplitude instead?
Wiigamestorei @ Sep 24th 2008 1:52PM
Not feeling it either

Mr Khan @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:47PM
How did i know "I Want Candy" was going to be on that list?
zombiejesus @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:01PM
I want candy, bubble gum, and taffy
Skip to the sweet shop with my sweetheart Sandy
Got my pennies saved so I'm her sugar daddy
I'm her Hume Cronyn and she's my Jessica Tandy, I want candy!
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:22PM
Actually, I'm upset this song was promised but never delivered for Rock The 80s
Marek Hryc @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:03PM
Zombiejesus, +1 for MC PeePants reference!
Al2x @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:48PM
Isn't "Push it to the Limit" by Paul Engemann? Whos Corbin Bleu?
TreetarD @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:14PM
he's disney channel trash
Moptimus Slime @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:55PM
Where in the fuck is Toni Basil? The freaken music video for Mickey HAD CHEERLEADERS DANCING AROUND IN IT. That is probably as obvious as it gets. And don't tell me Toni wouldn't sell you the rights, because if that song is accurate, she will do anything for attention
Dovi @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:34PM
Saving it for $5 DLC obviously
Ned Fetterhoff @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:58PM
Bravo for fitting the Faith No More reference in a We Cheer story. Bravo
mewoks @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:59PM
Seems a waste to make a game like this and not include "Mickey" by Toni Basil
"Huddle Formation" is a surprising and cool choice, however.
Not that I'll ever play this game, or anything.
Dirty @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:56PM
uh huh....sure
WiiFTW @ Sep 22nd 2008 7:59PM
FOOTLOOSE FUCK YEAH IM PREORDERING THIS SHIT
That being said, Joystiq should definitely review this for teh lulz. I could totally see it as another feature for Joystiq, reviewing (really) casual games to see how bad they are.
Al2x @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:45PM
...Kick off your shoes, get loose...
bm @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:26PM
I think you should get off your prejudiced ass and watch the videos. Yeah, it looks like it's for girls. But in no way does it look "bad" or "really casual", at least not unless you thought the same of Quendan.
kingrock @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:28PM
I always thought it was "Be Agressive, B-E Agressive"
ranelar @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:12PM
That was actually a pretty awesome intro cheer you wrote.
Dustin @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:20PM
hmm. Guitar Hero 4 DLC right there
Diskoboy7 @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:22PM
Get on, get on, get on, get on, get on my Groovy Train!!!
Oh, Hell yes!! I used to love that song! "Spartacus" is one of my favorite 90's albums.
Too bad it's games like this that made me get rid of the Wii...
Mr Khan @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:10PM
Right, because you totally have to play them
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:30PM
You know, it's always games like this that tends to weed to real gamers out from the ones who joined for Haloz and Gran Fef Audo.
Dirty @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:57PM
What!?
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:30PM
Maybe I can put it this way...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byzlauqM1I0&NR=1
Watch that video. Watch how the motions of each hand is tracked and challenged individually. I can't say I care for the music but the music in Elite Beat Agents was ass too. But regardless, the only thing that is "wrong" with this game is conceptually self image. And this is where I laugh and say, this is what seperates who games for fun, and who tries to be cool while gamming.
Examples? Did you really think Super Scope 6 wasn't the dorkiest thing for the SNES? But we loved that stuff. Likewise, right now, millions of gamers are kicked back in a sofa or coach, headset plugged into their controller, and using phrases like Team Kill or Frag. Completely oblivious to being within spitting distance to this...

Apply these same observations to someone pointing a bright orange gun at a TV screen, or someone feverishly attempting to pass Through the Fire & Flames.
And yet DDR or a game like this looks stupid to them. Reality check time, gaming is nerdy, dorky, embarassing, etc. There is NO point where your ability to headshot will get you laid. So, one can draw the conclusion if you're going to look like an asshole while gaming no matter what you do, why not enjoy a game like this, DDR, Warioware, or WiiFit? It's not like Call of Duty 4 is raking in the pussy.
That's why I say it's games like these that seperate the real gamers.
glassd @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:39PM
So your a big rythm game fan eh? And from what I gather you like Elite Beat Agents. Have you ever played Osu!? If not I suggest you look it up. (btw that ! is supposed to be there, it's part of the name)
Dirty @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:04PM
Just because someone doesn't enjoy a particular type of genre doesn't make them any less of a "gamer". I like to escape into a world where I am a bad ass space marine, not a perky cheerleader. Sure games are dorky, but I would rather be caught masturbating by my mother, grandmother, and jesus than be caught by.... anyone in the world playing this game. If that makes me not a "gamer" then bring on teh haloz.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:08PM
While I fully agree with Shepps about playing games for the sake of fun, I'm still too shallow as a male Homo Sapiens specimen to appear as a raging homosexual in public.
But that game STILL looks a hell lot of fun, most probably to be played inside a closet.
Yourself @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:13PM
I think Sheppy's point, to put it concisely (not that I'm very good at doing that) is not that every real gamer has to like this game and hate Halo, but that no real gamer would differentiate between this game and Halo because of anything besides gameplay.
Immortal Technique PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:35PM
You got a pretty jaded perspective there Sheepy. In the end it's about preference. I like rhythm games - a lot actually. But, there is nothing in this game that appeals to me in the least bit.
I like racing games a lot as well. But, I probably wouldn't be interested in a Thomas the tank engine train racing game because the content doesn't appeal to me.
It has nothing to do with playing games to be cool. It's about escaping into an interactive experience that I am at the very least interested in. Now, I wouldn't make fun of you if we were buddies and you were playing it at your house. Hell, I would probably even try it out. But, it's not the type of game I would entertain for myself. Maybe for my 6 year old daughter. It has nothing to do with my machismo either - It's just not something that interest me.
theturtle363 @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:31PM
if my friends buy this i think ill have to murder them
gir @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:40PM
Batam! This isn't like you! I think you've lived waaaayy too long.
Long enough to become a villain.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:04PM
Batam?
j.howlett @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:40PM
i want this game. it reminds me of one of my favorite mini games from smooth moves. some of the songs seem fun to.
rokobungi @ Sep 22nd 2008 8:44PM
ok where's 'Motteke! Sailor Fuku'? not in it? sorry, no sell
Aeikozz @ Sep 23rd 2008 7:48AM
i second this. At least let it be DLC or somethng
HB96st @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:39PM
I-I'm totally in shock... Ya'll WANT this game?? -This is one of the many reasons I cant stand the wii!! Look at it! Are ya'll serious!!?? Wow..
Iceberg!!! -Dead ahead!!!
j.howlett @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:53PM
it looks a little stupid but the gameplay looks fun
Jerk Face @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:25PM
I'm with you pal. Holy christ.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:16PM
I've lost enough faith in humanity due to the wii. To see that some want to play this made me lose even more, which I didn't even think was possible until now.
Mal F4cti0n @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:45PM
Jeez, Joystiq, where's the sarcasm?
Matt Dusza @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:37PM
wow i was saying i wonder if they'll add some go! team. reading to the end i was thinking nope, and then the last 2 are them. they are just a fantastic band. saw them live at lollapalooza and they were amazing.
T. @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:23PM
Part of me is really, really glad they included the Go!Team. Aside from the fact that they're one of my favorite bands, it actually is a great fit for the game. Oh "Huddle Formation", when will you finally be in other rhythm games?
*sigh*
Back to freestyle mode in RB2 for now. . .
