"Self-defence!" it'll claim, noting how people simply wouldn't "stop pressing my buttons." Also, the European Xbox 360 can talk. No wonder it's managed to "hit" 6 million people, a figure which Microsoft's Chris Lewis, Vice President of Interactive Entertainment Business EMEA and apparent violence fetishist, is "very excited" by.
"We're very excited that more consumers in Europe are joining the ever-growing Xbox 360 community," Lewis said. "We're now the best-value next-gen console on the market with an entry-level ERP of €179/£129.99, and consumers have clearly responded to that offering." He went on to promise that a "launch-level" advertising campaign would, uh, launch in the region next week, promoting titles like "Lips, Scene It?; You're In The Movies and Fable 2."
Yes, he really did put Fable 2 at the very end of the list.

I heard that everyone Antcep knows in the UK has a 360, so that must mean that the majority of those European sales are coming from there.

It's the reverse over here.
Most people have a PS3, some have a 360.
Those that are still waiting to buy one are waiting on a PS3.

So what is the 360's world wide sales now anyways?
It should be very interesting to see the sales for coming weeks, given the 360's price drop.
As far as their advertising campaign goes, I don't think Scene It? is the game to promote the 360 with...but its better than nothing.
I was on a European tour for a month over the summer and I did not see a single 360 advertisement, nor did I see any in electronic stores that I visited. PS3s were everywhere tho.

the PGR4 engine was originally Forza's. Also, Turn 10 is making the next PGR, so unless they have a large staff, you might have to wait a bit on Forza 3.

Why not promote FIFA09 or PES09?
You're In The Movies? WTF?
I demand FIFA09 and PES09!

It might be that they are holding off on PES and FIFA so they can promote them along with the release of their re-designed controller.
Those news bits might get lost in all the promotions they are doing now.

Where I live in the US, PS3's are almost non-existent and almost considered some sort of a joke by the gamer community. Everyone I know has a Xbox 360.

This is probably an unfair question, but what is the 360's true ownership rate? Are double sales (i.e. RROD out of warentee) counted/subtracted?
just curious

They are counted, regardless of what any fanboy cries. To Microsoft, they were sold, if they break and cant be used anymore, that doesn't matter, someone bought it origionally.
I am sure Sony and Nintendo also cound the broken consoles but... well, >1% is a lot different than 33% :|

I still don't know very many that own a PS3, however, I don't live in Europe. And best value? Come on, Xbox live is 40 dollars a year, and the 360 breaks down within 6 months of purchasing it.

My 360 is almost four years old, has withstood being knocked over by myself and my inebriated friends, being left on literally for weeks at a time, and believe it or not, having water accidentally spilled inside the casing. So everybody who complains about the 360's quality is doing something horribly wrong if mine still works after what it's been through.
and 40 bucks a year for live is chump change, especially considering it blows the other live services out of the water.
