I doubt the latter half of the year will change those standings much, unless LBP breaks out in a big way. Long tail sales effect will keep those same top 5 wii games selling strong (Brawl will bounce back)

The only other game that could cause some change up there is Gears 2, which will probably meet the holiday season sales of its predecessor, or slightly surpass them

Wii Music probably won't do as well as Wii Fit, since the draw of exercise in this country is far too powerful. Wii Music will probably cap out at 2, 3 million, at least this season.

That's a pretty bold prediction for Wii Music. Maybe if it were bundled with a Wii Remote it could reach those by the end of the year. Otherwise, I haven't seen so much genuine (READ: Not fanboy generated) Negative Hype for a game in a long time.

Also, I'm shocked by how many people I know are getting Fallout 3 on a console. I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up on at least Xbox 360's list, if not PlayStation 3's as well.

ALL the hype for Wii Music has been fanboy generated.

Just because some fanboys have a journalism job doesn't make them any less of a fanboy. The gaming press, which is an enthusiast press, had the same reaction to Wii Music and E3 as everyone else did...which is the primary reason for the negative coverage.

Interestingly, though, just like Wii sports and Wii fit before it, more recent impressions of Wii Music have been fairly positive...thus making Wii Music likely to be yet another game that everyone says will be awful and then is pleasantly surprised after they really get to play it.

All the negative hype comes from us, though, the gamers. I'm not sold on the idea either (i do like to play games with an objective), but the game is not utterly without merit. After reading up a bit on it, i've come to see the "point" of the game is more about creative interpretation than anything else.

If you view the game in direct comparison to GH and Rock Band, which are games of skill, you're going to look at Wii Music and see a retarded game for people who suck too hard to play real music games, but from another perspective, the insanely wide variety of instruments, coupled with the no-fail capabilities, make it more about creating unique performances than anything else

It still isn't for me, but its misunderstood, and those people who do understand it are going to buy it in droves.

"creative interpretation than anything else"

i.e. Everybody wins!

Ugh.

@Xoviet chiK - I'd get the PC version of Fallout in a heartbeat if I hadn't have had so many problems getting Oblivion to play without constantly crashing on my PC. And I keep my machine nice and clean, don't run any garbage programs, and had good hardware for it, too. It just didn't want to run.

So I'm not sure that I want to dish out $50 for a game that might not even let me play the whole way through.

proved my point, you automatically re-interpreted what i said back into a metric of winning and losing. Think Mario Paint, quite simply.

I don't think they should be allowed to count Wii Play on these lists.

Why, because it's a value pack? Seriously though, it would probably get a lot of sales even if it wasn't a pack-in. Probably be at like 2-3 million.

Suprising to see army of 2 on the 360 top 5. Big win for EA.

Hopefully they continue with the new IP's.

Agreed: EA works to set itself apart from Activision by becoming a better company, and everyone wins for it in the end.

I hope they continue with new IPs, but Army of Two wasn't all that great. It was OK at best as a once-through-in-co-op type game, but I wouldn't ever play it twice.

I'm ashamed to say I played it twice (once on hardcore, once on professional). Plus the DLC in addition to that.

It was a totally mediocre game at its heart, but the co-op was the big win there. Co-op games always end up being the only games I play through more than once, and I'll buy up everyone of them just to support the movement to making it a standard (*cough* CoD4 level from the plane shooting down at the church would have been the greatest thing ever if it had co-op *cough*)

I love co-op myself, but Army of Two just didn't do much for me... though my brother and I did finish the game. Also, we both just rented it via Gamefly, so it wasn't worth keeping around for second time through. I just sent it on back and moved on to a different game.

I did like the concept though, I just felt they could have done so much more and didn't execute well. And too much of the "co-op" was forced. Like those back-to-back sections. I hated how they forced you into those situations even when there was obvious cover just a few steps away.

I unearthed a copy of Jones in the Fast Lane the other day. Yeeeah it's been ages since I've bought a PC game.

I really dont understand how ppl can diss mario kart, saying that it was bad and crap. Even though DS was better for its platform, I have to say that mario kart wii is proabably the best overall mario kart.
Nintendo finally managed to make a good online expterience and ppl still whine and say that its not good.
I will admit it had its fair share of dissapointments (split screen sucked, battle mode was ruined) it was a great game!

Anyone who thinks Mario Kart Wii sucks... clearly sucks at the game lol! As I did at first... the powersliding still works I dont see what the fuss about there... That blasted blue shell, you can actually avoid it in this game... it just take SKILL!! ...and no casual gamer can beat me.
