Freeze! Not so fast. Step away from the calendar. That's right, put the marker down. September 29th is not the day your new Mii-er-crosoft Avatar will be delivered to your dashboard. It's not as easy as ringing up the storks, you know. Making Avatars and all those other newfangled Xbox experiments take time. It's like a delicate dance. No, that's not right. It's like a service-wide blackout. Monday, September 29th, 12:01 am to 11:59 pm PST to be exact.
So you sit and you wait, or you go get some fresh air -- or you do what we do: Play offline. And then it's Tuesday, and, well, you may be surprised to find the same old Xbox experience on your console. After all that, you wonder? Uh-huh. That's it? Yep, for now. But, but -- the new New? "That will happen later this Fall," Major assures.

why dont they just mail you out the 13 cents in an envelope that costs 5 cents to print, with a stamp that costs 42 cents, on a check that costs 10 cents to print, run through a machine that costs 1 cent to process that check...
or better yet they should give us a $ 10 game for free for the 13 cents lost...
lol....

I know this seems like no big deal - I really don't mind not being able to play for a day - but I hope you take lost time seriously when you're out on your own and paying the bills when all of a sudden the electricity or internet access go out for days. If they pull the plug for a bit and offer no compensation, and you don't make some effort to stand up against it, you're allowing them to set an unfortunate precedent.
(apologies in advance if you are in fact out on your own)

Yes, "whoosh" indeed, right over my head.
Titanium was obviously lampooning anyone that would complain about losing a day of XBL, and while I don't think losing 24 hours of online video gaming is a huge deal, I'm of the opinion that you're a fool if you'll let any company shortchange you, ESPECIALLY if they neglect to inform you of a pending downtime (which fortunately is not the case here).
Since you kids obviously aren't concerned with such things, I'll let you fall into these traps yourself. No, don't heed me, just tell me how completely oblivious I am to this transparent joke.
Thank you and good day.

Since they axed this year's Spring Update, I was hoping they would bring out that fucker early to make up for it.
Oh well, guess I'm back to the usual "whatever"...

What is exciting about Live going down for an entire day?
You obviously didn't read the article. You won't see the new features until later this fall.
