Freeze! Not so fast. Step away from the calendar. That's right, put the marker down. September 29th is not the day your new Mii-er-crosoft Avatar will be delivered to your dashboard. It's not as easy as ringing up the storks, you know. Making Avatars and all those other newfangled Xbox experiments take time. It's like a delicate dance. No, that's not right. It's like a service-wide blackout. Monday, September 29th, 12:01 am to 11:59 pm PST to be exact.
So you sit and you wait, or you go get some fresh air -- or you do what we do: Play offline. And then it's Tuesday, and, well, you may be surprised to find the same old Xbox experience on your console. After all that, you wonder? Uh-huh. That's it? Yep, for now. But, but -- the new New? "That will happen later this Fall," Major assures.

Now, what does my creepy internet stalker have to say about that?

Not much really, I already knew you claimed to have a 360. Love the attention though.

this post obviously shows your pro sony agenda. If you were not a fanboy, you would have known to schedule your Rock Band shipment a day early

I don't understand why this type of press is such a big deal:
In this instance, Microsoft is actively letting us know that they are down for maintenance. Furthermore, they are going to be down on a Monday, which is probably statistically the least-utilized XBL day of the week.
It was totally different when XBL randomly went down for an entire week, during peak playing hours on the week of CHRISTMAS.
I think the latter instance warrants a little frustration and demanding of repayment. But, when Microsoft is doing general maintenance, I don't see how it's worth arguing over..

Typically, I wouldn't be that bothered be this news, but I get one week off after being on call for two weeks straight, and it figures that they would schedule this for RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WEEK OFF. grrrrrrrrrrrr

wow.. i understand that for each individual person, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Yea, its only 13 cents, but think about it, its 13 cents from how many people? add it all together and they're making a nice chunk of change for doing nothing more than not allowing us to play online.
