360 dashboard ad claims NXE releases in Nov.

An eagle-eyed tipster just informed and sent picture proof to our Joystiq pals that the New Xbox Experience dashboard update will be releasing sometime in November. Or so says a Rock Band 2 / Stride ad that's featured on the 360's dash.

As one can see in the photographic proof above, the dash ad tells us to "Check out the New Xbox Experience coming in November!" With this new information we have to ask ourselves, can this dash ad be trusted? Will we experience a NXE in November? What shall we eat for lunch? Microsoft has been contacted and we patiently wait for answers to these hard hitting questions.

I was hoping we'd get it at least by next month....

September is over. That leaves October, November and December. We would be seeing more news building up the hype if it was October. Based on this info I think it's a fair guess that the release will happen in November.

If history repeats itself, then mid-late November seems right on target.

Last month's Official Xbox Magazine had an article that stated twice that the NXE would be arriving in November. I don't think this is necessarily news is it?

They said Fall. December is patently Winter.

November it is.

First day of Winter is December 21, 2/3s of the month is Fall, astronomically speaking.

The last Fall updated was actually on December 4th. So history doesn't really back up November and MS apparently considers December part of Fall.

I'd be surprised if the ad is wrong. I don't know why a third party would be adding in that date just because they felt like it. You'd think that would be MS's own input.

I'll let you guys know what happens at tomorrows launch party extravaganza!

MS have made it clear that October isn't going to see the new dash merely because they are being so coy and keep stating Holiday Season, and December is too late.

I always thought if we heard nothing by September then it would be November.

I saw this on XBL last nite...and cried myself to sleep.

One day kids will pop open a book and understand equinoxes and the rotation and tilt of the earth and that seasons and months don't map one to one. For every person who says March is Spring, another will show you a huge blizzard in mid March.

Fall runs from roughly September 15 to November 6 in solar term in the northern hemisphere, which also happens to be the location of many of Microsoft Game Studios' offices.

So, for the northern hemisphere, fall is only 2 months? Does that leave two more extra seasons in the mix, or is it Fall from September - early November, then Autumn the rest of the time? Or in Washington, where the laws of physics are different, Winter is six months and the other three seasons take two each?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft is a nationwide, if not international company. Or do they base all their decisions on the weather in Redmond? "Snowing in Redmond? Better close the Florida offices too!"

Well, imho, i think it'll be out in November cause every time they show the NXE, they have had either Lego Batman as the game, or the GOW2 theme. Now either that is a coincidence or they did that as a tease for when it will come out. So, my guess is before GOW2, or shortly thereafter.

There was also a Dashboard ad for Halo 3 claiming that the game would feature clan support.

Just sayin', you know?

As soon as we know the release date for Scene It 2, we know the Fall Update release date. It will make heavy use of Avatars. So unless the Scene It 2 release date slips, the update comes out near it, probably early enough that the update will be on the game discs for non Internet connected people.

You hit the nail on the head. This is exactly what I've been thinking.

it would make sense for them to launch the NXE on Nov 22 , as we all remember the original launch date of the 360 was Nov 22 ,2005 , what a perfect date for the new dash the 3 year anniversary Nov 22,2008

It's kinda funny too see all the back & forth as to what months/days are actually Fall. But anyways...I was always under the assumption that it would be late November. However I do believe it will happen before Black Friday so they can have the avatars on the boxes for the holiday rush.

It's rather entertaining reading through all of this. Everyone turning into Nostradamus is awesome. I've given up trying to figure out anything like this long ago. It'll be out when its out is my philosophy right about now.

Well, as upset i am that i have to wait until november, I'm glad its not any later, seeing as its only 2 months away. Hopefully this is true.

lets be honest the only reason people wanna know about dash up-date, is the modded 360 peeps and when there fat ban is coming....so they can start saving for there new 360...lol so they can make the most of xbox-live as they can...
october, nov or dec dont matter to me it comes when it comes. should be fun.

guess what hilarious my school has every friday in november off...except nov.7th which the only friday that will ever launch gears of war 2.....so me and my friends are going to have gearsooopolaza!!!!

It's pretty reasonable to see NXE hit Xbox LIVE in November. I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't come in October or September. But did any of you receive a message from Xbox LIVE today saying that XBL will be down Monday for something related to the NXE? Rumors?

Do i need the xbla for the NXE?

They're definitely quick to change the language to fall now.

Just saw a sweepstakes on mycokerewards that has a 360 and VP:TIP as a prize and in the description it also mentions the NXE and it "Coming in November", so that's another source i guess. Unless MS is just telling vendors November.

It's be before the launch of Gears2 just because the news on the interwebs is that you will enjoy Gears2 more with the NXE update..Then again I am taking this the wronge way and it just means that you'll like Gears2 but you will like it more after the NXE launches?

microsoft is weird.

I went onto the website and a banner came across the screen that said November 19th, if that helps anyone!
