Rare have said that they 100% own all the games they made, with the exception of the ones based on franchises owned by Nintendo (Starfox, Donkey Kong, etc).

The only problem with Goldeneye comes from movie liscencing issues and so forth, not because it was originally on a Nintendo platform.

Hopefully BK's existence on XBLA will put an end to the knuckleheads who continue to insist that it's Nintendo's fault that Goldeneye isn't on WiiWare or XBLA.

It is nintendos fault. You havent been paying attention. Rare made goldenye XBLA, nintendo found out about it. Nintendo cant do anything directly, so they cried to activision, threatening to cut them off from the wii and ds (which would cost activision billions) unless they put a stop to XBLA. Rare says, ok we will give you goldenye for VC if we can still get a remake on XBLa. Nintendo says NO. So activision is forced to cut the game off to keep in good terms with nintendo.

So yeah, pretty much all nintendos fault.

Well, it's either got to be something with Nintendo or the Bond license holders (former and current) fighting over profit sharing. I honestly have a hard time believing that the license holders would squabble over something as small as the profits on an XBLA game to the point where the game didn't released... but I have no problems at all believing Nintendo would be that spiteful.

It is just a rumour but it seems likely. Why else would Activion refuse to allow MS to release Goldeneye on the Arcade, when it would instantly sell millions.

I usually don't get all pissy about all that fanboy exclusivity bullcrap, but it does kind of irk me that Banjo-Kazooie was one of my favorite N64 games, and now that Stop n' Swop is finally being implemented, it's on a system that I don't own. Well, it's not a big deal I guess.

After all, it's getting Rock Band 2 ;)

I might get this just to 'understand' the hype behind this series. Though I would've preferred another CONKER game... or dare I say it, BATTLETOADS. LoL.

Gameplay wise, if you played Conker's Bad Fur Day you've played Banjo-Kazooie. Of course, Banjo had its own charm to it, so it's still worth checking out, but yeah, all of Rare's N64 platformers were pretty similar at their core.

Wow. I'm definitely jealous that it isn't coming to Virtual Console, but not quite sure I'd want to pay $15. Still, big news for XBox owners since Banjo Kazooie was a solid (and lengthy) platformer worth owning.

I'm guessing that remake means that it won't be running on a N64 emulator, but I don't know that for sure. That said, it would be cool if it was enhanced for HDTV or something.

It is, effectively, a port. It's the exact same game with the exact same artwork. And yes, it is being rendered in hi-def (not that it matters a whole lot since the artwork is so simple that the 360 could probably render it at 300fps)

That's still a port. Even more so, in fact.

I don't get what people have with calling ports "remakes". It's nonsense, and always gets me all excited for nothing. :(

I'm not 100% sold on Nuts & Bolts yet, but a $40 game that includes a $15 game for free that I KNOW I like is a hard deal to pass up.

Do I have to pre-order from a specific retailer or could I do it from, say, Amazon.

I think all retailers have that offer. Don't quote me on it, though.

I just think that going through Amazon is a good idea, because it'll shave off $3 from the price tag, and you'll get free shipping (unless you MUST have it ASAP).

$15? Really? Not even Nintendo is making people pay that much for N64 games. This BETTER have updated graphics for HD or else this is a huge ripoff.

As far as I know, the certification process with MS is so complicated because of the fact that every XBLA game must be HD compatible, among other requirements. I'd be surprised if they're charging this much and not offering at least passable HD visuals.

this article says playing the original BK will unlock content in Nuts and Bolts, but the "about two weeks early" link provided in the story claims just the opposite. which is it??

The original Stop N Swap was going to work retroactively. In other words, Tooie progress would unlock secrets in the first game. It was an incentive to play the old one again.

I can only assume that will be the case this time around.

Anyone remember the special room in Banjo that you could never get into ? That it was supposedly gonna be unlocked when Banjo2 came around.

Of course that never happened , but it would be nice if they made it possible to get in there this time around some how , and have it unlock some Nuts and Bolts stuff.

You can really only hope that they pulled it after how much people have been complaining about the 1200 point price, and it becoming standard (like we all know it's becoming).

The whole Stop n' Swop in Banjo 1 was material that never came about in Banjo 2 due to the N64's ram limitations. It's disappointing that it's being put into Nuts & Bolts and not Tooie like it was originally intended.

$15 is a little hefty, but it you do get it free with pre-orders of Banjo 3, and that itself is only $30. So you're basically only paying $15 for Banjo 3.

The original game is well worth the money either way.

Nuts & Bolts is actually $40... But still a nice change to the usual $60 price tag for "OMG TEH HDZ" games...

Though, you can preorder it on Amazon and save $3, plus free shipping, and still get B-K XBLA for free.

Good times.

I can only assume that GameStop will get preorder vouchers closer to the game's launch. When I worked there, that's how it worked a lot of times. We'd get preorder goodies that no one ever mentioned we'd be getting a week before release.

Pain in the ass. =C
