Sometimes, video games just aren't expensive enough. Sometimes, we'll think to ourselves, "Just $60? What am I going to do with all this money I make blogging about video games?" Sensing our dilemma, EA's offering a pair of extra-spensive Xbox 360 bundles for two of their highest-profile (and most promising!) fall releases. We've already filled you in on the $150 "Ultra Limited Edition" Dead Space bundle but also wanted to showcase this rather fetching messenger bag Mirror's Edge bundle.
$130 bags you the Xbox 360 release of the game along with a ME-themed Timbuk2 messenger bag (read: much nicer than GameStop's preorder bag), complete with Faith's face on the inside flap – just the sort of conversation starter we all want sewn directly into our baggage.

Agreed! I can't wait to run along walls and jump over/slide under random objects in my path looking awesome with my designer bag at my side.

Agreed. $70 for a bag with some chick's face plastered on the inside? No thanks.

You could say that (unfairly) about a lot of untested IP's that have had special editions (i.e. Gears of War). But $130 does seem a lot steep.

Me too. I tote my laptop around in a timbuk2 pack, that cost me $120. Out of the three laptop bags I've owned in the past 2 years, this is the ONLY one that has a) lasted more than a year, and b) had a place for every toy, accessory, or widget that accompanies my laptop, as well as textbooks, cell phone, iPod, cables, papers, dongles, pencils and a bottle of water.
The bag is extremely sturdy, nicely built, waterproof, laptop-padded, and well-designed.
I have also had a positive experience when dealing with their customer service over a shipping mix-up.
IMO, it has been well worth the price.

The color's all wrong for my tastes but if you're even remotely interested... I'm sure there will be plenty in the bargain bin a month or two following release.
So many old limited editions stacked up in my EB.

it's a timbuk2 bag, it's worth every penny. I've had the one I'm using now for about 6 years (way before they started getting popular). They will last forever.

I have been buying Timbuktu bags for over 15 years. They are the some of the best bags out there. My recent laptop Timbuktu bag cost well over 150. Quality and reasonable prices.
Do I want it with a videogame. Resounding NO!.

This week? I think Madden would object to that. For the last 10 years or so.

Wow. Maybe it's just me, but i haven't seen enough of this game yet to even come up with a decent opinion yet. Every trailer seems to show the same footage, or if it is different, i couldn't tell. They're just generating hype and buzz with a SE for 130 dollars. I can understand an established franchise pulling something like , but not something brand new. It could end up being a H4.5e and you're stuck with a goofy ass video game bag.

You say that like existing franchises are somehow impervious to bad sequels....
DICE is an established developer who's proven they understand first-person better than most devs... I'm not saying it's going to assure a good game or anything. But if you look at their history, chances are pretty good it'll be a decent game.

I think I'd rather have the FREE bag that's actually in the game, thanks.

Who the hell are they marketing to? Who buys this stuff? Seriously, I have no idea and I would like to because apparently there is a large enough demographic out there that they decided this would be a profitable move.

As cool as this is, I don't think I could use it let alone open the bag in public; it strikes me weird in some sense.

This game is going to suck either way. It has the possiblity of being "decent" but definitely not a great game with all this hype.

Don't be fooled! This is all a ruse for people to actually buy the game instead of renting what's going to be an 8 hour game with limited replay value.

Timbuk2 bags are great and this is actually a pretty good price for one, considering you get the game with it.

1. No PS3 bundle?
2. Why the hell is that so expensive?

Does EA grasp anyone else as being awfully presumptuous lately? Granted, both dead space and mirror's edge look really awesome, but all of this extra stuff coming out before I've even played either of these games is a little much to me. It makes me like these products less, not more.
All I'm saying is both of these games had better be amazing.

@ Mischa
You know everyone is talking about the bags value, which makes sense in relation to the post but, what you have brought up is what i have been thinking this whole time as i troll through the comments.
Whether its EA or another company, this is a bold strategy.

You'd think that if they're gonna try and charge $130 for a video game they'd at least have the brains to offer it to those of us who paid $600 for our machine.
