Watch Bungie's big reveal: A teaser for Halo 3 campaign expansion

If you got the special ending you see him crashing into another planet. Which I believe is connected to their other series. I believe he lands in the same planet as the other game takes place and you fight your way a new breed of monsters. Just a guess.

it's probably because I watched the new history channel documentry, but the whole twin towers in New Mombasa thing seems familiar. I'm not trying to be funny or say that there's any intent for controversy or anything, just that it struck me as being similar to some of that footage.

All I know is that it better not be too big if it's a download. My 20gb hard drive is getting full enough as it is.

(Well the hard drive that doesn't have a system right now.)

An expansion to the (mediocre) campaign? Uhh ok...congrats to the 10 people who actually cared about the campaign to begin with. The other 99% of halo's population are too busy with multiplayer.

Somehow I was thinking of Crysis when I saw this. An alternate campaign where we are a squad of ODST? I'd sure as hell pay for that.

Those "pods' are the same pods used in Halo 2, when you're dropped with helljumpers onto Delta Halo. Maybe the rumor of it being a marine based squad shooter are correct. Maybe this game takes place before Halo end or maybe this takes place when the Cov's discovered earth. That big blast during the pods drop looks like some sort of plasma attack, deff not of our technology. I doubt it's when that cov battlecruiser went into slipspace above New Mobassa in halo 2 cause that city was turned into a crator. The city in the trailer looks a lot more like an american city in the future it's got a lot more arch. akin to american cities. And since we see pods dropping from the sky we know its around the Halo 1,2 era; we're in space so UNSC exists along with Oni. So This trailer could take place in a lot of places and times but all i know that this game will involve human marines on a plant (earth, i assume) during an attack from opposing forces (Covenant, i'm guessing, maybe even the return of the Forerunners?)

It's going to be one of those dating sim / sex games. prepare to drop... trau.

My guess is we're gonna be playing as ODSTs. It makes sense, they're in the pods, they drop from space, and the crypic In-universe messages on bungie.net about squads all point to it

duuuuude, its kinda obvious, its a single player expansion to halo 3, notice the space elevator still standing?? and then that big white "explosion". that event took place in halo 2 remember when the prophet jumped inside the city, my guess, is its a parallel campaign to halo 3 just in a different place, by the way those burning things coming down are drop pods with odst's in them. notice how they all got destroyed?? save for one at the end? probably the protaganist. cheers.

I just noticed that scince every body wanted HAlo 4, that instead they are just carrying on with the campaign. I twist this in with the legendary ending that AdianZon mentiond. Thats my guess, but if anyone knows for sure, please tell...

What was that all about?

I know what the game is going to be about. In the end of this trailer they say, "Prepare to Drop". In Halo 2, and Halo 3, you become more familiar with UNSC Special Forces known as the ODST, (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers). They are also described very accurately in the Halo books. (The Fall of Reach, the Flood, and The First Strike).

They're nickname is "Helljumpers", the reason being is because (in the mission "Delta Halo" in Halo 2) They drop in pods from ships outside of a planets atmosphere, and as the pod with the "Helljumper" inside it goes through the atmosphere, the inside of the drop pod becomes increasingly hot.

My guess on what they are doing landing in a city, perhaps on earth, I cannot say. A flood spore, maybe? Another unknown alien threat. Surviving Covenant. But whatever it is, it will, without a doubt be great.

It could be a prequal expansion to the campaign to show the beginning of the human-covenant war i may be wrong but that would be cool if that was it either way it looks good.

the video is from halo 3 rcon it is an expansion of halo 3 and u dont need halo 3 to play it in the game you ae a normal soldier not the chief it is not squad based but it is in the time when the covenent first invade it is qiute cool feel free to comment.
