Microsoft in biggest Xbox 360 media assault yet
Presumably hoping to build on that price cut momentum, Microsoft has launched into its biggest 360 ad attack ever, according to Edge Online. The "Live Your Moment" campaign will extend to billboards, print, TV and every medium in between. In fact, in a little thing we in the biz like to call "media synergy," you can see the first TV ad online right after the break. Welcome to the future.
We at Joystiq would love to be excited about the new campaign, which takes you inside the brain of 360 players, but as the last remaining members of the Herman's Head International Fan Club, we feel like we should be stand-offish, if only on principle.

creepy.
Jake11 @ Sep 25th 2008 1:34PM
my dick was confused by her facial expressions
Wiinterfang @ Sep 25th 2008 2:53PM
She got that expression because I've just unzip my pants.
warlock7 @ Sep 26th 2008 8:28AM
@Winterfang:
So, confusion and amusement...
Moffka @ Sep 25th 2008 1:34PM
I still can't stop nerd raging over how much I hate MS for getting Rock Band 2 a month earlier for the 360. I have both the 360 and PS3, but I bought Rock Band 2 for my PStriple and now must..... wait. *sob*
Dirty @ Sep 25th 2008 1:40PM
That sucks... Guess you took a gamble and lost.. Just curious as to why you chose the PS3 version over the 360?
Erluti @ Sep 25th 2008 1:58PM
He REALLY hates being invited to play Halo 3 while he's earning his achievements.
Besides, achievement is such a nasty word. How much better is it to get a trophy?
atrimus @ Sep 25th 2008 2:43PM
well, i plan on getting RB2 for my PS3 (i have a 360 also) for free online play. yeah, Live is arguably better, but me and my select group of friends don't really game online enough to warrant paying for online gaming.
Moffka @ Sep 26th 2008 12:45AM
When rock band 1 was first released the guitar controllers were wireless for the PS3 and not for the 360. My room is very small, so extra cords would be a huge problem. Also didn't want to have to deal with having to be logged in to access my downloaded music like I've seen happen on my friends 360.
OMGOMG @ Sep 25th 2008 1:38PM
So, looks like MS hired Sony's original PS3 ad team.

Hashbrown Hunter @ Sep 25th 2008 2:29PM
Nah, looks more like they stole Speilberg's A.I. special effects team.
Even the girl looks the same!
Heh @ Sep 25th 2008 2:38PM
I can't be the ONLY one that liked that ad, can I?
OMGOMG @ Sep 25th 2008 3:05PM
That scared the shit out of me when I was high once. We discussed it for over an hour with some friends. So, in some odd way, it WAS a good idea.
I need to stop smoking.
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 25th 2008 5:15PM
I liked the ad
Dirty @ Sep 25th 2008 1:39PM
Perhaps this is what got the rumor started regarding today's big news blowout. This and Bungie's super announcement...announcing nothing!
Neuromancer @ Sep 25th 2008 1:52PM
That's what I thought when I saw this post, "the rumors were true!"
Yeah thanks for nothing Bungie. Maybe if we're lucky, some time in the next few months a single screenshot will be released for us to ooh and ah over.
Chance Morgan @ Sep 25th 2008 1:41PM
OK...so she is playing Rock Band/GH4 with her friend and she is orgasmically happy because it feels so real...as if the real band is playing a private party in her head.
To quote gameplayFanBoy from above - "creepy" and I would like to add - "weird"
Duke @ Sep 25th 2008 2:12PM
Yeah, when I saw the commercial I felt really creeped out.
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 2:22PM
Actually, watch it again, you'll note that the band in her head/on-stage is actually her + her friends. Not that it makes the ad any less creepy or strange...
acefondu @ Sep 25th 2008 1:41PM
I still don't want one.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Sep 25th 2008 5:47PM
Thanks for your thorough, and comprehensive statement. You are an intelligent man of few words and you should be granted an honorary seat at the United Nations as Grand Global Gaming Master. The G.G.G.M. has posthumously been created for your wisdom.
acefondu @ Sep 25th 2008 10:05PM
The article concerned a new advertising campaign so MS could gain new consumers. It didn't work on me. Gain some insight skills Leobebes. Also, lose the sarcastic humor, you're really bad at it.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Sep 26th 2008 5:06PM
sure...oh yea look at my message rating it was effective unlike your unnecessary narcissistic mess of a comment.
Chin-Poh @ Sep 25th 2008 1:44PM
Damn MS, you have a lot of money to throw around! :0
IslandLife @ Sep 25th 2008 1:44PM
LOL! Herman's Head!
Man that show was awful.
cuso26 @ Sep 25th 2008 1:47PM
"Live your moment"?
I don't get it? What does a video game system have to do with living a moment? I live moments all day long without effort, and most of them don't include games. What does a 360 do to enhance my moment living?
Can someone please clear this up?!
Erluti @ Sep 25th 2008 2:01PM
It's not applying it to life, like one would say "Stop and smell the roses!"
But rather that the 360 is a source of wish-fulfillment, and that you can live out your fantasy. It's not just playing a game, it's being your favorite band.
Marty @ Sep 25th 2008 2:01PM
It's a marketing slogan, don't lose sleep over it.
Mr Khan @ Sep 25th 2008 2:22PM
Who are you?
cuso26 @ Sep 25th 2008 2:40PM
Wow, you people are touchy, that was all tongue-in-cheek, you know.
Why are 360 fanboys so zealous? It's a console for cryin' out loud.
Sora @ Sep 25th 2008 6:22PM
Aren't ALL fanboys zealous, not just 360 fanboys?
Fenix @ Sep 25th 2008 1:47PM
Hermans Head, haha I loved that show.
*quickly heads to youtube
xGeneral DEATHx @ Sep 25th 2008 4:56PM
"I've got the urge, Herman."
"The urge?"
"The urge to merge."
Don't ask how it is that I remember that.
Fenix @ Sep 25th 2008 1:53PM
"a little thing we in the biz"
Justins on fire today :) to many lolz from you today man.
SoulBlade @ Sep 25th 2008 1:56PM
A price cut, a new Halo expansion, and tons of money thrown at advertising. Good business moves, but I sense a bit of desperation.
Marty @ Sep 25th 2008 2:00PM
When Subway put on that $5 Foot Long campaign, I sensed desperation too. I mean, the pieces were all there: a price cut, a new sandwich expansion, and tons of money thrown at advertising.
Because you know, every time a company advertises to me and cuts the prices on their products, I sense that they are weak, desperate, and about to collapse. Both financially and physically.
Badboy1979 @ Sep 25th 2008 2:02PM
... hmmm, I sense upcoming holiday shopping season... not desperation. But that's just my crazy senses ;)
Erluti @ Sep 25th 2008 2:02PM
Or maybe they are on tilt? You know, now that they've got us on the ground, they're going for the jugular?
It's getting close to time for the kids to start circling what they want in the Toys ' R ' Us catalog, isn't it?
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 2:27PM
I sense a PS3 fanboy.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Sep 25th 2008 3:07PM

Badboy1979 @ Sep 25th 2008 3:29PM
lol lol lol ... no, it's suppose to be a coffee bean... it's the logo for a my blog site I'm working on
Vader582 @ Sep 25th 2008 1:58PM
This is living...your moment.
Wait, what?
RazorD @ Sep 25th 2008 2:01PM
And the TV commercials starting airing an hour ago here in the UK - All 3 sandwiched into one commercial break, so i'm guessing thats what they plan for the weekend.
RazorD @ Sep 25th 2008 2:04PM
The adverts also confirm a november release date for Rock Band 2 in the UK.
Obie @ Sep 25th 2008 2:03PM
Did they hire those weirdo Sony ad campaign guys?
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Sep 25th 2008 2:05PM
Not as bad as Sony's ads, but you'll get there, Microsoft!
DigDug @ Sep 25th 2008 3:13PM
More dumb Americans that are too thick to understand that the ads they see on Internet fanboy sites like there, are from other countries, and guess what, they have different tastes in advertising.
It's really funny to see American idiots tearing apart European Sony adverts, when they have nevr actually been abroad....
Duke @ Sep 25th 2008 5:05PM
Dig Dug - that's it. You are just a prick.
He advertises a PSN name, so he's obviously not a 360 fanboy. Besides, we have seen plenty of PS3 ads in the US that were creepy (Baby anyone?). You assume way too much - including the fact that you know wtf you are saying on any given day.
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Sep 25th 2008 5:18PM
DigDug, you do not know where I live, and especially have no idea where I have or have not traveled. For how much you are whining about ignorance, you are displaying an impressive amount of it yourself.
