CoD: World At War Collector's Edition pins the tail on you
40
You might need to fill that flask, er, "canteen" with more than just Kool-Aid if you plan to make it through the first few weeks of Call of Duty 5 Call of Duty: World At War boot camp. You see, you bought the "Limited Collector's Edition," which includes, in addition to a storage tin (guaranteed to fit other Treyarch games!) and the aforementioned sipping container, the infamous "Day One Advantage." As if spotting the guy with the ridiculously over-powered machine gun won't be easy enough, you'll also be pinned with a "uniquely colored clan tag" identifying your "VIP-status" in online multiplayer. In other words: Everybody kill that guy! Yeah, you.

LOL!
But im not too sure about Treyarch as a whole anyway, CoD3 IMO was pure CoD fanboy material. The multiplayer was shoddy and inaccurate and as for the game...CoD2 it was not...(stating the obvious).

i agree about CoD 3, however, like most times, it's failings were due to Activision rushing it out the door to make CoD a yearly thing for teh moniez. They've had moe than twice the time to work on this on, so i think it could really be great

Here is the only info I saw:
The PC version of the Limited Collector's edition will run gamers $69.99, and its Xbox 360 counterpart will retail for $79.99. Players can get their hands on Call of Duty: World at War and its Limited Collector's edition come November 11 in the US, and November 12 in Australia.

I'm really just not that excited to go back to WWII, or the Deuce as I like to call it. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I've actually never played a WWII game that took place in the Pacific, with you fighting the Japanese, so this actually seems somewhat new to me.

WWII seems like its been picked clean, but thats only because devs keep sweeping over the same damn 11 months: Normandy to the Elbe, June 44 to May 45
The better ones have tackled the Eastern front and the Pacific, but we really need to see a comprehensive game dealing with all of it.

@ Dirty
As long as these games are developed by and targeted at Americans, I doubt it.Making an US-targeted game about a war in which they've lost in a very humiliating way isn't a smart business move.

I have a feeling everyone is going to be gunning for GOW2S status with these special editions, and that can only be a good thing.

I like how they spread out the game box, disc, and manual, and separated the tin and the dust cover to make it look more impressive.

If there is anything I learn over the years, it's the useless of these bonus item. I always buy them and then leave them on the shelf. Think I should stop repeating the same mistake and save myself some money for other games.

I guess I've outgrown limited editions. Tons of worthless crap that just fill up my house. It's hardly limited or valuable as a collectible when they print hundreds of thousands of copies. That's hardly "limited".
A year later, what am I supposed to do with my Master Chief helmet beside dust it weekly? Do I really need a shine to each franchise? "Over here in the Call of Duty wing, you'll see my awxsome limited edition canteen. And in the Rapture Study, please admire my Big Daddy figuring." enough brick-a-brack!
