In honor of
LEGO Batman's release this week, we've decided to go LEGO crazy -- even if that's only in spirit. Here's what we'll be playing this weekend. Be sure to let us know what games will be occupying your time!
- Alexander Sliwinski: The big push this weekend is to finish LEGO Infinite Undiscovery. It's still going along perfectly fine. I really believe the low scores are from reviewers tossing the game aside because of the horribly designed first few hours. Not that with the glut of games coming out now I'd recommend it, but there's nothing actually wrong with it JRPG-wise. Also, spending some time playing LEGO Batman co-op.
- Christopher Grant: Keeping the PS3 fired up, I'll be alternating between wrapping up LEGO Beyond Good & Evil (it just keeps getting better!) and putting as much time as I can into the LEGOBigPlanet beta. Since this is my last weekend with the consoles before jetting off to the far-off world of Japan, I'll also try to finish LEGO Castle Crashers, play some LEGO Pure, and maybe some LEGO Geometry Wars 2 before someone kills me for avoiding it.
- Griffin McElroy: While the rest of you will probably be satisfying your retro urges by spending your weekend with a certain blue robot, I'll be scratching that itch by finishing up LEGO Secret of Evermore, which I recently found within the darkest depths of my closet. Once that's done, I think I might start playing another (slightly less appreciated) SNES classic, LEGO Illusion of Gaia. I'm starting to wonder if LEGO Ross is going to stop including me in this feature as the majority of my weekend titles as of late were published in the Clinton era. [Edit: This post has had been once published in 1996.]
- Kevin Kelly and Kyle Orland are attending The Coalition of People Whose Name Start with a K. They're taping a Sesame Street cameo.
- James Ransom-Wiley: Trying to stay off the walls in LEGO WipEout HD.
- Jason Dobson: I've taken to spending my weekends playing LEGO boardgames, and I'll be pulling myself away from the little blue klepto to take shotgun in hand. Next stop: LEGO ZombieTown.
- Justin McElroy: As always, I'd encourage all of you to go out, have a few drinks and meet a nice guy or gal to fall in love with, because it's the weekend. As I'm now a married fella, I'll be playing LEGO Armored Core For Answer or LEGO Warhammer Online.
- Ludwig Kietzmann: It's a weekend of technological contrast for me. When I'm not shaking my fist at LEGO Mega Man 9's robot masters and swearing that this will be my final attempt, I'll be diving into the 1080p paradise that is LEGO WipEout HD. Those Zone tracks are hypnotic!
- Randy Nelson: Should I find myself in too happy a mood this weekend, I'll just fire up LEGO Mega Man 9 and nip that right in the bud. No matter how many games I've beaten over the years, or how many mad skillz (yo) I think I possess, it never fails to make me feel like I don't know nuthin' (but I can't. stop. playing.). Of course, it'll be pretty gorram hard to bring me down from the incredible heights of the LEGOBigPlanet beta and LEGO WipEout HD. Just try, little blue guy!
- Ross Miller will be playing my favorite off-the-grid-and-on-the-grill-and-gridiron game: drinking while watching the (LEGO) Georgia Bulldogs take on Alabama in the comfort of my living room. As for video games, I've got one more rhythm in LEGO Rock Band 2 drum trainer to vanquish (Disco 4), then it's back to World Tour and maybe playing catch-up with whatever library of titles I didn't just sell to GameStop.

I finally found a PS1 emulator that works good so I've been going crazy on all the ps1 games I don't still have (hint: a lot).
Least now I don't have to bitch to Sony for not putting any on the store anymore :D

i've slowly been getting into gta4 again (it said something about a habit in the stats) because i pulled a gator on my mom's t.v. and can finally see the phone and e-mail. i should probably check in on resistance to see if i was kicked out my latest clan for not being there all month.
Yourself @ Sep 26th 2008 10:50PM
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time... til my patience runs out. That game is really testing me with it's horrible characters, horrible plot, and 45 minute cutscenes full of bad acting used to emphasize the horrible stuff. Like the battle system, though.
And of course LEGO Mega Man 9. I've been playing without the save feature; so far my longest session was ~50 minutes, in which I beat four bosses (yeah =[ I'm still getting the hang of it).
Oooh, and Ogre Battle. Just got the PSX version in the mail today.
Yourself @ Sep 27th 2008 1:21AM
Just beat all 8 in 59:08. Will save the Wily stages for tomorrow.
Jacksons @ Sep 26th 2008 11:25PM
Pure and Ratchet. No LEGO here.
Jerk Face @ Sep 26th 2008 11:36PM
Griff: Illusion of Gaia = Win, Secret of Evermore = Average Sauce
As for me, I'm playing through Bioshock for the first time and absolutely freaking loving it!
TheOverlord#2 @ Sep 26th 2008 11:37PM
LEGO Mega Man 9. I just beat Jewel Man, and I know Magma Man's stage by heart, but I just can't beat that robot master. Also, a little LEGO MoH H2(Wii, add me: TheOverlord2) possibly some LEGO Mega Man 2 & LEGO Elite Beat Agents(Sweatin').
Yourself @ Sep 26th 2008 11:56PM
I thought Magma Man wasn't all that bad. You can pretty much trick him into jumping over your head if you stay in the middle-ish area., just tryin' to help.
Turkish Superman @ Sep 26th 2008 11:52PM
I found a LEGO Mister Freeze outside the movie theater this evening. He's currently taking up residence on top of my monitor.
Donald @ Sep 27th 2008 12:53AM
Kirby Superstar LEGO, LEGO Man 9, and LEGO Platinum
flanked @ Sep 27th 2008 1:08AM
I'll be popping in LEGO Requiem for a Dream.

That was an amazing movie, but the amputated arm and stripper scene make me never want to see it ever again. -shivers-
Nuke @ Sep 27th 2008 3:35AM
When I saw LEGO Secret of Evermore, I was thinking ah I miss that game... but then I saw LEGO Illusion of Gaia, and now I am going to open the box in my closet to play it. Thanks, Griffin, for setting me up for another several hours of a game I've finished one too many times already.
paralipsis @ Sep 27th 2008 5:31AM
I have been struggling the past day or say trying to do well in the awkwardly named LEGO Sid Meier's Civilization IV Colonization. If I get the time I will make another attempt to gain independence.
Otherwise I will spend a couple of hours finding out which games will run on my netbook via DOSBox.
Oh, and I promised my better half that I would help her out in part of LEGO Phantom Hourglass.
Haggard (Mr.ESC resurrection force) @ Sep 27th 2008 6:18AM
I'll probably either be playing LEGO Painkiller (I love seeing the red bricks flying out of my foes), or some LEGO Stubbs the Zombie.
I may even buy LEGO Manhunt off the Steam 50% off sale.
Jeepers Creepers 712 @ Sep 27th 2008 7:30AM
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift - Done with 117 missions of 300, only 13 / 20 storyline missions.
Star Wars: Force Unleashed - Bout half way through it on PS3. Awesome game
Castle Crashers - Me and two friends plan on tearing it up come Sunday in an all day marathon.
playwhutyalike (bring back Mr. ESC, please) @ Sep 27th 2008 9:27AM
GRID. Still trying to get used to and comfortable with the whole Force Feedback Wheel thing.....
Jakka(A tribute to whose who fought and failed during the Epic Flamewar of L.A. Noir and MR.ESC) @ Sep 27th 2008 10:44AM
I'll be playing LEGO Witcher as well as LEGO Fortress. My Lego Engineer will cry Lego tears when his Lego Sentry will be sapped by a Lego Spy's Lego Sapper. He'll then whack the Lego Spy's Lego Brain with his Lego Wrench after which he'll get high on the Lego Healing Fumes from his Lego Dispenser.
Zak Canard @ Sep 27th 2008 2:22PM
Spah's brickin' mah sentry!
Zak Canard @ Sep 27th 2008 2:21PM
For me it'll most likely be LEGO Man 9, perhaps some Samba De AmLEGO, and as always some Team LEGO 2.
Bones3D @ Sep 28th 2008 12:23PM
They should just get on with it and make a Lego "Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail" game already. It wouldn't be the first time King Arthur and his knights have graced the world of Lego. (In fact, on the Holy Grail DVD, there is a complete recreation of the "Camelot" musical number entirely done in Lego.)
Personally, I'm headed to the castle Anthrax to give everyone there a good spanking (and maybe more...)
