The person in charge of sacking the person who was to sack the person writing the credits has been sacked.

The directors of the firm hired to continue the credits after the other people had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been
sacked.

I thought that was the greatest film ever when I was in middle school, then didn't watch if for like 5 years and decided to hate it, then just watched it this summer and thought it was the greatest film ever (other than Army of Darkness obviously).

Oh damn, the 360 sales have fallen quite a bit, it looks like the PS3 will overtake the 360 again next week. These 360 burst of sales seem very short-lived in Japan. They'll literally have to release a blockbuster game every two weeks to keep the momentum going or will plummet right back down to normalcy.

The same can be said about the US. Well the PS3 beat the xbox 360 overthere as well for the most part of the year. But in Europe and Japan the PS3 sells alot better than the xbox 360. Pricecut or not.

So tell me, what developer is creating "hits" at that rate?
Also, the 360's been out for quite some time (1rst next gen system on market)so its sales will decrease or level out.

I don't know who is doing that in Japan, I'm not being sarcastic, I really don't know. Who is it? I really do believe 360 sales soon in Japan will fall behind the PS3, just like its sales quickly boosted above the PS3 after the newest Ace Combat game and fell back down a little while later.

Its really only because of Tales of Vesperia, those Japanese really like their Japanese RPGs, the Tales series is quite popular over there. I don't think it was worth for MS to secure it as an exclusive, its only boosted the 360s sales there temporarily.

I wonder if it may go to the PS3 eventually, PS3 owners are starving for JRPGs and it would find a much larger audience in Japan.

NINTENDO OWNS POKÉMON.

You might as well ask for Halo on PS3 and God of War on Wii.

Alright, Wiinterfang, you want to discuss what needs to happen with Pokemon. If a developer would take their time with it and build it the eay it needs to be built, there needs to be a Pokemon MMO. PvE to battle random monsters based on location, with the ability to capture some. PvP dueling between monsters. A deep monster customization system. Teams of trainers work together to take down big monsters and gym leaders. The ultimate reward, however, Player run gyms. Buildings you can customize and you can even add PC or NPC underlings. Set them up on a tiered system, but reward players based on level. If a level twenty has a gym, it looks like crap compared to a level 60 or even a level 40. Push the player to go farther, but it will mean leaving his gym to go train.

Obviously, I'm insane.

The price drop and new JRPSGs in the region have been the catalyst for the momentum. Hopefully MS will keep the shelves stocked in the Asian territory.

I saw somewhere that there will be a $50 PS3 price reduction before Christmas. That would bring an entry level PS3 at only $350. After someone bought Live and the Wi-Fi adapter the prices would be equal.

Price is not the most important aspect of a home console. The best thing the PS3 can do is continue to update the media functions, have more top tier exclusives & better PSN content among others. The driving point of the PS3 is going to have to be the games. The lower $200 price point might move more just cause but I think in the end if there is another MGS game the systems will sell regardless of cost. I happen to think LBP will also be tone of those types of games.

But why would someone buy a wi-fi adapter if they didn't want to use wi-fi?

Besides, anyone that pays $150 for Live and wi-fi (which is what you've assumed given your total pricepoint) is the same kind of unsavvy customer that's going to pay $100 for an HDMI cable at Best Buy, so your point is pretty much moot there.

@Vcize

I wouldn't go quite that far, though I'm sure that's true in many cases. I'd wager that there are plenty of people smart enough to shop around for a cheaper cable that may not be computer saavy enough to know about or realize they can use a completely non-360 branded wireless bridge instead of the official wirless adpater. Value shopper doesn't not necessarily equal computer saavy.

i used a non branded wifi adaptor... its called an ethernet cable, it cost me $2.

true, for some people their TV might be too far from where their cable/dsl modem is to use a cabled connection, but for a lot of people, a $2 ethernet cable is a BETTER solution than wifi.

I don't use WiFi on my systems either. I'll take a hardwire over wireless any day for something like a console that doesn't move anywhere. And Vcize is right about that point, not everyone uses/needs wireless.

the 360 doesnt come with WIFI (not needed to play HD games)
the ps3 doesnt come HDMI or HD component cables (needed to play HD games)

wifi adapter = $ 20
HDMI cables = $ 10

xbox wifi = $ 100
sony or monster or branded HDMI = $ 50 - $ 150

no wifi for me either...

Because of Weblogs' silly policy of forcing bloggers to use plural pronouns, I can't tell if Griffin is arguing with another blogger, a clone of himself, or his multiple personalities.

Ah, is that so?

Well, my mistake then. As the impression I've gotten is that it were a policy of Weblogs, Inc. for all bloggers to use the plural pronouns. For it seems as though all bloggers write that way...

Even so, as a stylistic choice, it still seems odd to me. Especially in the context of a multi-blogger blog. Take for example, the first paragraph in this blog post. Griffin McElroy writes "we're jonesing to play [Warhammer Online]." Which gives me the idea that all of the Joystiq staff (not to be confused with the anonymous blogger "Joystiq Staff") has an uncontrolable desire to play WAR. Which may be possible... but seems a bit unlikely. Unless Joystiq only hires MMO junkies, I suppose.

But even in the definition given by the linked Wikipedia article, of "we" referring to "the reader and the writer", it still comes off weird. I, personally, have no desire to touch WAR at all; not even with a 39½ ft. pole.

Some don't use "we" when they're describing hands-on experiences with games, though they do use we in an odd way in other places

Keeps givin' me flashbacks to the dark days of the "_____ Staff" articles and joystiq's near-death experience.
