Puzzle Quest spreads to iPhone App Store 'this fall'
Intent on making Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords impossible to avoid regardless of your platform preferences (seriously: DS, PSP, Xbox Live Arcade, Windows, Mac OS X, Wii, PlayStation 2, mobile phones), D3Publisher has announced the puzzle phenomenon will be its very first foray into the wide, wide world of iPhone apps. Having proven their chops getting things to run on Apple platforms with Cider, the alchemists at TransGaming will be responsible for the iPhone port, bringing all the match-three slash RPG gameplay you know and love to the App Store "this fall."

...Well, there goes any hopes of Aurora Feint blowing away the competition before this happened...
who cares though! Puzzle Quest is coming to the iPhone, can I get a hell yes?
J.Goodwin @ Sep 29th 2008 9:36PM
But still not PS3, much to my girlfriend's chagrin.
Titanium_Orchid @ Sep 29th 2008 10:46PM
there should be an announcement about this a TGS
lorddshadow @ Sep 29th 2008 11:18PM

Kspraydad @ Sep 29th 2008 11:43PM

Aurora Feint needs to step up its game now.
Then again, its free... cant beat that.

What about the NGage? Google's Android? The Gizmondo? Chop, chop D3Publisher, you've got a lot more work to do!
:D

I played a lot of Aurora Feint, and I just didn't see the draw... The only reason I ended up playing a lot of it is to try to find the fun part :/
Puzzle Quest is more engaging IMO, although it gets repetitive too. I'll probably still buy it tho. sounds like the first iPhone game actually worth a purchase
Phil @ Sep 29th 2008 10:28PM
See, your post is just completely cynical and hypocritical as well.
ALL puzzle games are repetitive. Aurora Feint is still in development as well, it's working on a progressively finished project and most IMPORTANT of all, it is FREE. Aurora Feint was most likely, headed into a direction of depth that Puzzle Quest has achieved.
And in addition to other games worth buying off of the store, Trism is an easy choice.

if you had said the comment was ignorant instead of hypocritical, I would have agreed due to the sarcasm, but no dude. My opinion is that AF, at this point, just feels too much like grinding, the fun parts need to be mixed in. I'll still check out the next part of the game if they ever finish it, and I applaud the devs either way. Indie game developmet ftw.

If I have my PSP, iPod, DS and Mobile Phone with me, I could survive for... uh... a long time on an deserted island!
Maxwell Ash @ Sep 30th 2008 3:02PM
Ahh, but what happens when the batteries run out? I could survive a long time with that stuff, and a charger, and a plug.

Off topic but would anyone be so kind as to tell me how to change my avatar? I've gone into my profile a dozen times and uploaded various .jpg images and it always says "upload successful" but never changes. Does the image need to be hosted online? Does it only accept a certain file type? Certain size? I've been posting since 2005 but I've never gotten it to work for me! Any help?
Number_Zero @ Sep 29th 2008 11:19PM
So, can I play iPhone games on an iPod touch? If so, I would rather get a touch.
Phil @ Sep 29th 2008 11:59PM
Yeah, the only types of apps not compatable with the Touch are typically the ones requiring a microphone or something similar.
Number_Zero @ Sep 30th 2008 1:34AM
Awesome.
My job really made me hate iPhones. I do tech support for cell phones and well we get so many calls about it that it drives me crazy.
Phil @ Sep 30th 2008 4:24AM
With the expensive data and service plans the phone has, the touch really is just IMHO the better of the two. One time purchase and no need to continue paying to keep it functioning. And it's a little bit smaller than the phone as well.
paralipsis @ Sep 29th 2008 11:56PM
I'm a big puzzle game fan and rpg fan, but Puzzle Quest played a for me like the worst of both worlds. Integrating rpg elements made the puzzles feel more like grinding than relaxing, and the story was so paper-thin it was probably created by a random-story-generator. So having it on just one platform was more than enough for me.
Magicdave87 @ Sep 30th 2008 5:00AM
Wow... I've got a friend who's addicted to his iPhone AND Puzzle Quest. I'll never see him again.
Dave @ Sep 30th 2008 8:15AM
Awesome, now I can curse the cheating AI during my staff meetings...
Chance Morgan @ Sep 30th 2008 11:34AM
NOW I want an iphone!
Chance Morgan @ Sep 30th 2008 11:38AM
Can I get a big AMEN! The AI has pissed me off so much I could almost hate this game...almost.
