When rapper Soulja Boy is done being a one-hit wonder international superstar he's got some big dreams. He wants to go to college, he wants to start his own clothing line, own his own shoe line and, as you can see at the 2:33 mark in the video below the break, design video games. We know we're going to get a glut of commenters decrying his intentions, but we think it's a great, great idea.
For one, he says in the video he once dreamed of being a Flash animator (really), though he admits in the same breath that "sounds kinda gay" (also really). For two, did you have the design insight to know that Braid was actually for people who smoke or people who drink? We think not.
A quick wiki lookup reveals that the wire's lead writer, David Simon, is indeed a middle-aged white guy. But to be fair, he is an experienced journalist who has written several books about inner city violence in Baltimore. He's also a crime journalist, so yeah, I suspect he's an expert in the field.
all we need is another rocket launcher-toting rapper in another crappy video game. The idea of a 50 Cent game, Soulja Boy game, whatever, is "kinda gay" and I would just be that much happier if they never did that ever again. With any rapper.

Flash animator hey? Yeah, apparently he's a big Newgrounds fan. I remember he comissioned a guy I know in indiana to do some flash art for him or something. He's also obsessed with Metal Gear Awesome, apparently.
He just wanted to do things he could strong together easily on a computer. DeAndre, as wikipedia tells me he is called, was a short step from pirating cs4 and fruityloops came up first. Personally, I think if he was top viewed on newgrounds, he'd be a lot easier to avoid.
But hey, he wants to go to college. I don't think he has a clue but at least he wants one. I'd definitely be intrigued if he made a game.
Do you visit this site regularly? Joystiq doesn't make anything even close to 30 posts per day.
For the most part, I agree with what you're saying, but in this case it has backfired on you. Yes, Joystiq can post "news" about whatever they want. If they want to stuff like this for "ratings" (read, pageviews), and the majority of their readers are reacting negatively to it, they're going to lose their audience.
Obviously we can't decide what Joystiq makes their posts about, but we can (and should) let them know how we feel about the subject. In this case, it just so happens that he's a joke, and no one likes hearing about him.
This kid is a total stereo typical retard, honestly I wish him and 50cent would just go live with 2Pac, and leave the games industry alone. If we need more bad games I am sure Ubisoft will be happy to give us more of it's ImagineZ line.......
