I've already played through the entire game, i don't know what all this extreme gore talk is all about, it's nothing out of the ordinary to shooters.

yah, i'm almost done with it. i think its because that kind of gore is new to the WWII shooter scene (i think, i could be wrong though). i'm used to seeing limbs being blown off in say Gears of War or maybe Soldier of Fortune. but for a game that is about an actual war, takes itself very seriously, and goes for a realistic art style, its just an interesting design choice.

Yeah, I'm not really seeing the over-the-top violence that I keep hearing about in regards to this game. It's no worse than any other shooter out there right now.
As a side note, I'd really only recommend this one to the fans of the series. While the game doesn't require you to have played the past two, you'll get more enjoyment out of it if you have. I loved the first two and am content with the third (used to the flaws by now) My roommate is a newbie to the series and finds the technical issues to be unbearable.

Umm, I've never actually been in a war or anything, but isn't real war actually very violent. I mean, blood doesn't spurt all over the place like in Kill Bill, but I'm pretty sure explosives can blow off limbs in real war rather easily. And depending on the round, range, and location, a bullet can do considerable damage to the human body. A single bullet from a handgun blowing off a leg may be a little extreme, but a grenade taking off an arm isn't too far fetched.
