Sony reveals TGS '08 lineup, 14 unannounced titles to be shown

Level 5, please make a Dark Cloud 3!!!

Konami will hopefully put out MGS5, I know its really soon but who cares

I would be interested in seeing this. Sony CE Japan is a very good publisher/dev

I'm kind of looking forward to the new Team ICO game. Just sayin'.

LBP is the only must-have exclusive in that list (and I *will* have it!) Hopefully, the 14 unnanounced titles will be more compelling. I'd like to user my BR player for games more often.

14 announced titles? Wow that is a lot. Thing is though what I have noticed about sony is that they will announce these 14 titles, but I would say 75% won't be out till 2010 or later....

Hmm... for some reason, I hadn't heard that they were making a third "Way of the Samurai." I never played the 2nd one (for reasons even I can't remember now), but I thought the first was quite the little gem on the PS2. A low-budget game, but I had a lot of fun with it. I'll keep my eyes peeled for 3.

Keep in mind that Sony still isn't pumping out a lot of titles for the PS3 because of the difficulties and costs.

So the 9 unannounced titles, will be mostly spinoffs and minor sequels and then one or two huges titles due in 2012, right after FFXIII and GT5 finally finish.

And MGS Online? Is it ALSO $60?

Man, Legend of the Dragoon 2!!!!!

I soooo would love that one of those non announced was a sequel of Legend of the Dragoon.

Man, that game had way more potential than any Final Fantasy on the PSX (Yeah, I liked it even more than Final Fantasy 7)

I hope one of these games is the rumored Legend of Dragoon 2 game from Sony and the other rumored game from Sony Dark Cloud 3. Last but not last another game that would be a team up with Level 5 would be the PS3 getting True Fantasy Live Online. Hino did say He wanted to finish the game and if it would get finished it would come out on the PS3.

I'm hoping things look a little like this:

1. The unnanounced game Sony has been going on about for ages and BBC said was the greatest thing since toast.

2. Team Ico's secret project

3. Where is ZOE3?????

4. The game Sony said it was working with Epic to make exclusive.

5. The game Sony said it was working with Rockstar to make exclusive.

6. A remake of something or some things, such as Ico, SOTC and / or maybe FF7.

7. An MMORPG of some kind with NCSoft

8. Sequels to Heavenly sword and Uncharted.

9. More Warhawk expansions (you can never have too much of warhawk :D )


I wouldn't say the likes of Genji and Lair deserve sequels, if they did, I think I would cry.

They might as well call the new team Ico game Epic win: The Adventure.

It occurs to me that this image shows a striking resemblance to the fountain in the central Temple in SotC. Now, if that is the case, I wonder what they could possibly be trying to get to the surface with a chain...

how many of these sony games that are being announced at a japan gaming show will be japan only ps3 exclusives?

we probably can guess that half of them will be sequels to games such as uncharted, heavenly sword, etc.

"Metal Gear Online" Just about everyone who wants to play this, already has MGS4 and IMO MGO sucks, I guess Konami just isn't good with online because it's boring.

I like what the series seems to be doing, that is telling the plot in reverse, and in an amazing way I'd like to add.

Holy crap, whats with all the Sony hate? Damned kids. Anyway, I'm excited to see what those unknowns are, almost as much as I'm excited for Resistance 2.

@heh - Whether or not this shows fevrent xbox leanings I don't know, but I bought the 360 on the day it came out. At that point it was the shiniest new console EVAR!!1!
I'm lucky enough to be at the age where I have no real responsibilities beyond rent and bills and have the magic disposable income that these companies are targeting.
yet, in the two years since the PS3 and Wii have come out I have never felt the need to own one, despite buying some tepid xbox titles in the mean time. Had either console had enough decent games to make me want to buy one I would have, but nobody is producing anything on the PS3 (that isn't coming on the xbox) that is sparking my imagination.
I have had a go of Drake's Fortune and want to play it a bit more. I did buy and complete RE4 on my flatmate's Wii because I missed it the first time round (but wouldn't have bought the console off the back of it) and have played Zelda but it failed to capture my imagination this time round.
However had it been the otherway around and the PS3 came out first (and because it was shiny I would have bought it), I would have felt the need to buy a xbox.
So as things stand the xbox has the best selection of games and genres for me so far.
Things I feel I'm missing out with on the PS3 are Drake's Fortune and Resistance (although I am not a huge FPS fan and can happily substitute it with COD4 for my blasting action). I do not want to play MGS4 or Ratchet and Clank.
Things I feel I'm missing out with on the Wii are probably Zelda if I could get into it, SMG, SSBM and although it's rubbish Umbrella Chronicles.
If I didn't have a xbox I'd feel I was missing out on GOW, Halo 3, Mass Effect, a LOT of arcade games, Project Gotham 4, Lost Odyssey (although having played it I found it disappointing) and Dead Rising, any one of which (apart from the arcade games) would be enough for me to purchase a xbox as a second console, simply because these are the types of games I enjoy playing.
It's just taking too long for the PS3 to get started for me to expect a console seller that will get me on board.

@atrimus. Wouldn't have been ecstatic if you replaced it with xbox/wii. As I've expressed above, the console exclusives on the xbox are enough to sell me a console, the ones on the PS3, I wouldn't mind, but I'm not shelling out for the priviledge and have no expectations to in the near future.
Never played SOTC although did play Ico, which was beautiful and frustrating (never completed it). The other games you mentioned I pretty much hated. Played DC for a while, got bored. Completed ZOE, wasn't too impressed and Suikoden never interested me and appears to have fairly 70% scores across the board, strange one to mention, is it a console shifter?

@theazureknight. The PS3 doesn't really need saved, it just needs to broaden it's appeal to people like me.

its TGS more than half will be japan only titles. the rest will be garbage like movies to game makes.
