Welcome Back... Xbox Live is online

Cue the "Welcome Back, Kotter" theme music! Xbox Live has returned to normal saving gamers unable to play their favorite online titles from boredom and saving Microsoft at least a few more hate letters to read. After hitting a speed bump during the maintenance, which only served as a stepping stone toward the New Xbox Experience, the Live service is back online.

Remember there are no new features added to the Xbox 360 or Xbox Live service at this time. We expect some connections to be a little bumpy as millions of fans attempt to reconnect at once but things will smooth over time.

So, the question now remains. Is Xbox Live working for you?

Surprisingly, as soon as they said it was back on line on MN's twitter, it was. Was expecting more problems than just a 2 hour delay. I would like to point out that your friends list is now one long list on Xbox.com, not seperated into pages now (which is how it should have stayed all along).

Also, all my Xbox Original downloads suddenly shot to the top of my played games list. I haven't played any of them in two weeks - as soon as LIVE came back, all 6 of the ones I own shot to the top. How weird is that?

Im more worried about how weird it is that you have 6 of them... O well i thought about getting a few... cept all my MS points tend to disappear on tuesdays and wednesdays... idk where they go lol

I'm starting to think we all have a problem since we've been waiting for XBL to come back online, and just hitting the F5 key over and over.

Worst part... it's so late, I want to go to bed now.

I was able to get on LIVE as soon as I read this post. Awesome.

yeah i noticed when i tried to log into my zune account that i had to read the new terms of service because they changed. i wonder whats different?

Would be nice to download something more than 1% tho.

Tried to get some Rock Band DLC but anything I tried to download stops at 1%.

Fine here and I just got the new Rock Band DLC album.

Well I've had the RROD Since 8/31
Talked to a bunch of Non speaking english CS-Reps. Got it escalated to a Higher up CS. I'm on my 10th Ref#, On my 2nd Box shipped to my house, & It just went out TODAY!

I feel your pain man. I went around and around with them my last time, it was so bad that I was calling back to cancel 3 live accounts but happened to get a supervisor that finally handled things. If it weren't for her, I was going to cancel those accounts and get rid of all of the xboxs.

Yeah I also am experiencing the 1% download and it sucks i want to play Under the Bridge! Oh never mind just started to work.

Yeah it works just fine. It was actually kinda nice not having live for a day, I got to play with Forge and do stuff I would normally not do.

yea, i agree. I also played around with it a bit, but i didnt have anyone to test out my "sticky launcher" with :( and of course, i didnt save the map when i went back to the dashboard.

it was something different though, which was kind of nice for once.

call of duty 4 on live is having a lot of problems joining games.

You get disconnected messages etc even though you are connected

the screen freezes and you are then in a game.

I'm having the same problem with COD.

Same thing here in N.Y. I can't get in to a game for sh*t. I wonder how long it's going to take for me to play some Call of Duty 4.

Same thing with COD4 for me too, i start up a game and it says "Unable to join game session" then after doing that about 10 times it will say "Sorry but you need an active internet connection to play online or system link games" Which i do have. However i went in a party with someone and tried team tactical and it was working and everyone in there seemed surprised they got in, it takes patience but it eventually works, they should be fixed soon i hope.

CoD 4 is very crappy today. First at around 5 CET got 1,5 hours of good game, but then it's been impossible to get into a game. Also, in dashboard the marketplace is very slow in loading, and now I get "can't sign into messenger" even though I'm signed into XBL.

Luckily I stopped trying to wait for XBL to come back and passed out at like 5:30 AM EST. When I logged onto XBL at 11:57 PM it was all good.

Or rather 11:57 AM today.

I'm still having connection problems with CoD 4 but i went to go play Halo 3 just to check if it was just CoD 4 and i played a custom game and it was a breeze.
I don't know something is up with CoD 4

9:20 here in California.. I just flat out can't sign into Xbox. Even though I was online an hour or two earlier.

does anybody know why the downloads stop at 1%? i tried to download the offspring track pack on rock band, but it stops at 1%
