DS Daily: What has Nintendo got planned?

If anything, it'd probably be a successor to the DS rather than a redesign. As has been mentioned all the previous times the rumour of a redesigned DS with a new display has popped up: changing the display would essentially mean any subsequent games using the new display would not be compatible with 'old' DSes (or would require two different interfaces, making the game filesizes expensively bloated, along with plenty of other issues).

well , nobody knows if there even a redesign but from what i learnt from nintendo it isnt gonna be worth buying a new one .
its isnt gonna be stronger , it isnt gonna be more usefull .

I would like to see Golden Sun 3 be released for the DS.

The DS always plays second fiddle to the Wii at these kind of events so I don't expect much other than the redesign announcement. I'd appreciate word that Fire Emblem DS is making it out of Europe, but I honestly don't trust Nintendo on this one. We might see one or two first-party announcements out of left field. I remember Paper Mario DS being announced months ago but without a single word on it since.

If the redesign is real, there's a good chance we'll see the announcement of a Virtual Console for GB games and potentially other online services that require an SD slot.

What we won't see, now or ever, are Metroid Dread, Archaic Sealed Heat, Mother 3, or Soma Bringer.

Honestly, I have higher hopes for the Wii portion of the summit. If an announcement for Kid Icarus or localization of Fatal Frame IV, Monster Hunter 3, or Arc Rise Fantasia make it out of there, it won't be a total loss.

Hopefully Bob's Game being published . . .

I predict Nintendo will announce that they have built a large, SPECTRE-style volcano lair from which they will be launching a nuclear holocaust.

......but seriously, I dunno. Let's wait and see what happens.

My gut feeling is that they are going to be incorporating PDA functionality into the next DS. The signs are already there. They already announced they were testing the DS as an information device used at airports and stadiums and the like.

lol, I honestly don't think Nintendo is going to announce anything big like a DS update. Don't know where some people got that idea (I know where it originated, but the people behind the rumor must have been smoking something). Think about it, the DS is doing extremely well right now, what reason would Nintendo have to try to improve the DS and increase sales? Especially with today's economy in such bad shape.

With The exceedingly strong rumor that it has better wireless they would take advantage of Wi-Fi Maybe a built in internet browser.
The new DS Will most likely have an app store or somethin' but from what I've heard the new DS with It's possible camera might have a messenger.
