To make up for the loss, Lionhead Studios has offered a downloadable Fable soundtrack. To obtain the tunes, visit sumthingdigital as of October 6th and enter "FableCollection" as a promotion code.

I checked the source link and there is a blurb at the bottom of the article:

I preordered back when to get the pub games. So I loose a bunch of give-me's and get a soundtrack, that looks like anyone can download, and that I'd be lucky to listen to once. Based on how much I played pub games before the xbox rrod-ed, it wasn't worth it.

That it can be downloaded by anyone, whether they pre-ordered or not, really is a kick in the ol'pants isn't it? It's not even a perk for having pre-ordered, it's just a gigantic "up yours!" to the pre-orderers.
Atleast I got to enjoy the pub games. I feel your pain though. That "Collector's Edition" pre-order just turned into a day-of cancel and purchase of the regular edition.

This is absurd and ridiculous. If they have supply chain issues, all they need to do is ship the added premiums after the fact to everyone who pre-ordered. I have had this game pre-ordered for over three months and less than three weeks before it ships, they decide they can't print five cardboard cards, a small box and a happy meal toy sized action figure? This is incompetence and stupidity of the highest order.

It's actually just dropped the limited edition RRP to the same price as the standard edition - not that you can find anywhere with the limited edition available now in the UK (apart from play, who are still charging £45..)

I prefer the premium packaging of the collectors editions as well as all the little extras included.
But this is really crap, will cancel my pre-order of collectors when I pick up a standard edition.

I'm actually not hurt by this. All I really wanted was the bonus in-game dungeon, weapon and Spartan armor and now I can get that for $10 less (which I can put towards Gears2). I wasn't interested in the cards or the hobbe (because it looked a bit like a happy meal toy).

Good.. they took out all the useless shit that was going to collect dust (i.e. terot cards, keychain).
Now for an extra $10, you get in-game content, 'The making of' DVD and the soundtrack..
Not to mention people wont be paying $10 for the useless stuff that was originally in here.

Meh, I'm not particularly bothered by this. The "Fate cards" were never interesting, and although I'm a little disappointed about missing out on the Hobbe figure, it's not that big a deal.
At least it costs the same as the regular edition now, it'd be pointless to buy the regular version.

How mad would all of you guys be if say they pulled this bait and switch with Fallout's Bobble Head? Cheap or not most of these Chinese stamped lead painted trinkets of crap turn out to be the most sought after items by video gamers, well not all of the time.
Perhaps it was a supply issue or maybe its a cushioning to the blow they are going to take when they don't meet expectations, i.e Too Human...
I on the other hand smelt this smelly Moulinex fish when he proclaimed how good it was and how emotional touching it was. And all that other BS fun stuff.
I'll make this wager. In my opinion if lets say it's as emotional as "Grave of Fireflies by Isao Takahata" then i'll drop the coin and pick this up. And write him a letter thanking him for that splendid moment in my life.

Sucks for me. I had this pre-ordered on Amazon for the regular edition back in November 2007 when they had it mispriced for $47.99. I had both on order for a while and then when I got the limited edition one for $66 I canceled the regular edition. Thanks for screwing me Lionhead!

Oh well, at least the Collector's Edition still comes with the free downloadable content. And Lion's Head will also be making the Fate Cards for download, for free. So, I'm kinda alright here.
