Curse you, "supply chain issues!" You can blame them for the undignified nerfing of the Fable 2 Limited Collector's Edition, which will now ship sans Fate Cards, adorable Hobbe figure and splendid, premium box. Thankfully, the reduction also affects the package's price, which will go down by $10 to $69.99 (£39.99 for our UK chums). It will still include a "making-of" DVD and the bonus in-game dungeon, weapon and Spartan armor.
To make up for the loss, Lionhead Studios has offered a downloadable Fable soundtrack. To obtain the tunes, visit sumthingdigital as of October 6th and enter "FableCollection" as a promotion code.

I preordered back when to get the pub games. So I loose a bunch of give-me's and get a soundtrack, that looks like anyone can download, and that I'd be lucky to listen to once. Based on how much I played pub games before the xbox rrod-ed, it wasn't worth it.

That it can be downloaded by anyone, whether they pre-ordered or not, really is a kick in the ol'pants isn't it? It's not even a perk for having pre-ordered, it's just a gigantic "up yours!" to the pre-orderers.
Atleast I got to enjoy the pub games. I feel your pain though. That "Collector's Edition" pre-order just turned into a day-of cancel and purchase of the regular edition.

This is absurd and ridiculous. If they have supply chain issues, all they need to do is ship the added premiums after the fact to everyone who pre-ordered. I have had this game pre-ordered for over three months and less than three weeks before it ships, they decide they can't print five cardboard cards, a small box and a happy meal toy sized action figure? This is incompetence and stupidity of the highest order.

yeah I wanna know that too, I preordered and paid mine off as soon as it was possible too. You'd think if it was a supply issue they'd still let at least a few through to the first buyers

What a bunch of fucking bull shit. They should have had all that done long ago, to avoid this issue. Yay music download, at least they could have put it on a damn CD.

Yea, your preorder only reserves your copy. You'll pay off the rest when you pick it up.

This is very disappointing. The Hobbe figure was a big draw for me, a collector of useless things.
Ah well, I can still pretend to be Master Chief as I try to not catch the black plague...

I ordered mine from Amazon when it was posted as 67 bucks.
I thought I was getting away with a deal here.
Turns out they ended up screwing it up anyway.

I prefer the premium packaging of the collectors editions as well as all the little extras included.
But this is really crap, will cancel my pre-order of collectors when I pick up a standard edition.

i thought the collectors edition was $69.99 in the first place? so is it just $60 now?

It was $79.99 before, unless you got a deal somewhere.

Awww.. DAMNIT!
*sigh*
Well...I'll be downgrading my preorder to a regular edition.
The collector's edition now is not worth it to me...even with the reduced price.
Poor quality Lionhead. Poor quality.
(and I agree that if it is only supply issues, send the stuff later...)

Sweet, no more junk and a reduced price! All I want is the in-game content.

Yeah except that was worth buying the LE over..
Even with the Terot cards + $1 keychain, this would not have been worth another.. $20?
I'm so happy they took that stuff out.. it actually makes sense.

I'm pissed, I think I'll just rent the game instead now and cancel my preorder. This supply chain issue excuse is obviously not accurate.

Well, time to cancel my pre-order on Amazon. hopefully they don't charge me for the pub games. But hell, it isn't my fault they got rid of everything worth paying the money for.

There goes ol' Lionhead, once again yanking away things it's promised...
I'm still gonna buy this and I'm still gonna have a damn good time. But man. As a hoarder of gaming memorabilia, this is a swift kick to the groin.

I'm actually not hurt by this. All I really wanted was the bonus in-game dungeon, weapon and Spartan armor and now I can get that for $10 less (which I can put towards Gears2). I wasn't interested in the cards or the hobbe (because it looked a bit like a happy meal toy).

Good.. they took out all the useless shit that was going to collect dust (i.e. terot cards, keychain).
Now for an extra $10, you get in-game content, 'The making of' DVD and the soundtrack..
Not to mention people wont be paying $10 for the useless stuff that was originally in here.

Also, Lionhead doesn't make the keychain and Fate cards.. in fact, I'm sure they had nothing to do with the L.E.

Meh, I'm not particularly bothered by this. The "Fate cards" were never interesting, and although I'm a little disappointed about missing out on the Hobbe figure, it's not that big a deal.
At least it costs the same as the regular edition now, it'd be pointless to buy the regular version.

They better or I'd putting my foot to the display stands and start screaming they stole my MONEY!
How mad would all of you guys be if say they pulled this bait and switch with Fallout's Bobble Head? Cheap or not most of these Chinese stamped lead painted trinkets of crap turn out to be the most sought after items by video gamers, well not all of the time.
Perhaps it was a supply issue or maybe its a cushioning to the blow they are going to take when they don't meet expectations, i.e Too Human...
I on the other hand smelt this smelly Moulinex fish when he proclaimed how good it was and how emotional touching it was. And all that other BS fun stuff.
I'll make this wager. In my opinion if lets say it's as emotional as "Grave of Fireflies by Isao Takahata" then i'll drop the coin and pick this up. And write him a letter thanking him for that splendid moment in my life.

Yes because not only does Lionhead make games.. they have a secret factory in the corner of China that makes all these pieces of crap.
Lol.. the official article states that Lionhead themselves have nothing to do with what is going on in here.

Sucks for me. I had this pre-ordered on Amazon for the regular edition back in November 2007 when they had it mispriced for $47.99. I had both on order for a while and then when I got the limited edition one for $66 I canceled the regular edition. Thanks for screwing me Lionhead!

This actually works to my advantage. Save $10, gain a soundtrack, and I still get the Making of DVD, and (of course) the game. I prefer a soundtrack to a Hobbe statue honestly.

Oh well, at least the Collector's Edition still comes with the free downloadable content. And Lion's Head will also be making the Fate Cards for download, for free. So, I'm kinda alright here.
